the potter's shop

If you are visiting historic downtown Waukesha, be sure to make time to visit The Potter's Shop. The unique and wide array of ceramics made by local artisans is a joy to view. I find it hard to walk in the store without some wonderful piece not following me home. It's a perfect place for gifts for others and for oneself. Consider taking one of the pottery classes. Some are an hour or so and private lessons are available. The staff is patient with those of all ability. Your piece may not turn out as sculpted as the ones on display, but it will be a piece you made. If you have never thrown clay on a potter's wheel, treat yourself. And it's even more fun if you go with a friend. I have taken several classes here and enjoyed all of them. I know that when I buy a piece for a gift it is sure to be a hit.
