We went for the dinner and a show experience at Muskfest Cafe. If I was reviewing the place for the show alone, I would give it a 5/5, because the acoustics and the intimacy of the venue is top-notch. But when I'm forced to pay a $10 minimum per person on food and drink, I have to consider it just as much a part of the overall experience, which brought the score way down.So to start, awful service; our waitress came around a grand total of 5 times for the duration of the THREE hours we were there, which I'm sure is partly attributed to the fact that we don't drink alcohol, so she assumed she wouldn't need to return to constantly bump up our bill with a flow of alcoholic beverages through the night. Our waitress came to the table to take out orders for appetizers, take our entrees order to refill our water twice (in the whole 3 hour night) and to leave us our bill. That's right, even after receiving our entrees (by a different server), she never came back to ask us even once how the meal was, and she didn't even inquire if we were interested in dessert either. For the food, I got pierogies and my girlfriend got the hummus platter, which was passable (its hard to screw that up). The pierogies were oddly served with sauteed onions, but were not sauteed themselves, and were chewy like they were they were frozen or reheated. I assume this, because they would've only been sauteed if the chefs had actually cooked the pierogies from scratch. For our entrees, I ordered pesto pasta with "blackened" chicken. Apparently at the Musikfest cafe, "blackened" is defined as coating the chicken in red pepper. The menu gave NO indication that this entree would be spicy, listing only that there was pasta, pesto, and chicken. It was the most awful combination I've ever eaten at a restaurant. The spice on the chicken essentially destroyed the pesto, basically turning it into a red pepper pasta dish. My dinner mate ordered a black bean burger, only to find out hers was incredibly spicy too. She even asked for the chipotle mayo on the side, and yet this VEGETARIAN burger itself was still SPICY. And again, nothing on the limited-description menu indicated it would be spicy aside from the mayo. I was tempted to have them return it and ask for something else, but if you read above, you'll see that we weren't even given enough attention by our waitress to be given the opportunity. Don't get me wrong, I love Musikfest and want they do for the community, but that doesn't give them an excuse to convince me they're high class and expect me to satisfy a $10 minimum per person in addition to the high price I paid to see a concert for abyssmal service and food. Its a non-profit organization for pete's sake.In conclusion, if you're going to see dinner and a show come for the music, but don't expect decent food or service. If you drink beer, fill that minimum with drinks only. Heck even get dessert. Just don't be fooled the upscale scenery/menu. It may not be bad quality ingredients, but its made by bad quality chefs so its bad all the same.

We attended Musikfest here, and had a blast. Parking was overcrowded, but once we were finally there- we had a great time. We tried the grilled corn, based on a volunteer's recommendation, and it was fantastic- messy- but worth it. The SteelStacks were beautiful when lit up at night. The bands were diverse and talented. I would recommend attending this event.

A sight to see. It is heartwarming to see that this beautiful old girl with such a rich and tumultuous history has been preserved. A lot more is still needed but what has been done is impressive. Worth a drive by if you are in the area.

I have been a regular visitor to SteelStacks, we enjoy movies, and fantastic shows at the Musikfest Café. The acoustics at the Café are fantastic, we've seen shows as diverse as Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Almost Queen, Tony and Tina's wedding, and in May we will be seeing Spyro Gyra!!! The atmosphere is incredible with the lighted blast furnace in the background and a great kitchen serving fantastic sandwiches up to full meals. We have never been disappointed!!!

We love SteelStacks! The Frank Banko movie theatres are first rate and show the films you may not find in the local multiplexes. And The MusikFest Cafe is great! So far we've seen Mary Chapin Carpenter, Dicky Betts, Colin Quinn, and a few other acts and every show was terrific. The room is small enough so you are never too far away from the stage, and the acoustics are excellent. On the main level you can buy a drink or something to eat and enjoy free music most nights of the week. It's a great place to spend a few hours and we can't wait to see how they expand in the future!

So many things going on! Live music, movies, outdoor events. Love the Runner's World running festival held there!

instead of tearing down the steel mill, it was transformed into an amazing cultural space. i am a native and so proud of my city for making the stacks a living museum! don't miss the chance to visit if you're only in town for a short time.

We very much enjoy the cinema at Steel Sacks. No kids talking during the movie, good film selection, and you can enjoy an adult beverage or food in your seat. Nice. My only qualm is that the food is overpriced and the selection rather limited. Also, the parking makes for a long walk.

Very different setting for a wedding. Just beautiful. Beautiful at night with all background being lit up and the fire! Just so very different! Loved it!

This well designed venue has a intimate concert space in the musicfest café. This is a sit down venue, with no bad seats for the stage. The food is average, with a good variety of beverages

Music, food, movies, gift shop, history, event space, this place is unique. The music venue is the best place for concerts. Great acoustics, small enough to be intimate. 3 bars in the concert area which are open during concerts. Movie theaters have large comfortable seats, and you can take beer and wine in to the movies. The view of the old Steel mill blast furnace is great.

Great retail shopping including a (Marshmallow) Peeps store. In fact, the complex hosts a whole Peep festival including a 5k race and a dropping of a huge, lighted Peep on New Year's Eve. The area is amazing historically renovated area which is truly unique. Shopping, art gallery, movie theater - just to name a few things to do.
