harriton house

Harriton House is a lovely spot tucked away in a residential neighborhood in Bryn Mawr. There is enough land still surrounding the house and outbuildings that it does not seem crowded by its surroundings. The house is a gem. It's just a beautiful example of its period. The interior architecture and furnishings are beautiful too. The docents are helpful and informative.The annual fair day in September is very nice for families.A visit to Harriton is well worth it.

I went on a tour of Harriton House with a group. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and I enjoyed hearing his talk. The gentleman answered so many of our questions so graciously. The history is fascinating and I may go back to hear it again!

Among the sites at bucolic Bryn Mawr, be sure to stop at beautiful historic Harriton House, a still operating pre-Revolutionary farm that hosted leaders of the American Revolution & still informs young visitors especially, who can learn about the importance of farming to early settlers & the site's role in the fight for independence.
