I have been to a lot of theaters across the continental US, Canada and many other countries such as Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, several locations in the Philippines to name a few. So for comparison sake that is why I rated it a 3 out of 5. I have seen it where there is food and drinks all over the place and I have seen it nice and neat also. I basically go there because it is closest to my house. They do have a soda machine in the hall, past the concession stand. I used to nuke a bag of popcorn on my way out of the house and throw it in my backpack along with soda and sometimes M&Ms. I just can not pay all that money for snacks at the prices they have at the concession stand. Bathrooms are clean and the seating is adequate. Wherever I go, I prefer to go to the earliest shows to avoid being irritated by peoples cell phone lights and their non stop talking. Price is not too bad for the early shows. Not all movies are shown early though. You still may get the discount price on the first showing of the day. You can find out before you go by checking online first.http://digiplexdest.com/locations.aspSomething else that is nice is its location in a strip mall type setting. The Camp Hill Diner is in the same parking area. There is another restaurant in the parking area by the entrance. There is a Wendy's across the street and a Burger King Down the street. In the Strip Mall there is an Aldi if you have some food shopping to do and a Big Lots, a game store and a pizza place and a State Liquor Store.
It does need a good cleaning from everyone spilling sodas and dropping popcorn and nachoes. I only go here if I have a discount ticket. Only kids work there so it is not always fast or effecient service. On a good note, the bathrooms are very clean.
This has been a good place to see a variety of movies for years. Within the last year it changed ownership and it has not improved. The corporation seems to be dragging every penny they can out of the place. Staff has been cut back dramatically. The carpets are old and dirty. The hot dogs used to be great-now they are terrible-too done or under cooked. Soap is not put in dispensers...I could go on and on.
I thoroughly enjoyed the fact that every movie that I attended had available tickets that could be access online via their website. I especially like the musical concerts that are broadcasted simultaneously. I have attended regular movies and found the theaters clean and the food well prepared. The staff was also helpful and friendly. There were soda machines in the hallways if somebody preferred their own soda rather than fountain soda.
For some reason Digiplex does not advertise what movies they are currently showing in our local paper. It's really irritating. I do not want to have to go to a computer to find out what they have showing at the Camp Hill and then the Mechanicsburg locations. It's nice just to look in the paper at what is playing where and when and make easy comparisons. Stop being cheap!
We go to this theater a lot since we live close by. It's not the top of the line but it is pretty nice. It's clean, inviting and plays the most current movies on the large screens. I am not a fan of the prices for food at this theater or that some movies get pushed into the small theaters quickly but besides that this is a nice place to see a movie. My suggestion is to see the movies you are really excited to see the first week they come out, after that the movie could be moved into a small theater which feels much like watching a movie at home except not on your comfy couch.
