AMAZING... as we paddled down the river... We realized how lucky we were to have something so wonderful right in our own back yard! Casey and Janet were amazing!!
This was one of the best kayaktrips I have been on! Friendly and helpful staff, great views, and safety conscious.
My wife, daughter, and I took the 4 mile course and it proved to be just right. The Shenango River is a pretty river to kayak and Carried Away is the ticket. The owner and her son are friendly and helpful and for $30 for a 2 hr trip, you can't beat it. We'll do it again soon!!!
Super fun for anyone from the area or for anyone visiting! I grew up near the Shenango River my whole life and never felt like I got to appreciate it until today. The 4-mile course is pretty easy...good if you just want to take it easy and enjoy nature or if you are a beginner.
Well maintained river that's so scenic and a great get away. Me and my buddies go down the river as often as we can! Never gets old.
Great experience! Highly recommended. Friendly staff and a beautiful trip down the river. Wildlife, nature, and more!
Higher recommended!!! Do yourself a favor and see nature the best way possible - up close and personal. The people here are extremely friendly and helpful. They know the Shenango River well and can give you advice on how long of a section you should do, which section, etc. Their equipment is in really good shape. My 12-yr old son and I rented a two-man kayak. It was a "sit on top" kind. The seats clipped on top and were surprisingly comfortable. If you are on the fence about kayaking, I strongly encourage you to go. It is amazing, peaceful, relaxing. It's hard to do justice to how beautiful and scenic it was. We saw a golden eagle and a bald eagle. We had never been before, but found it easy to pick up on the paddling technique. It's really not a very strenuous activity and we never really got tired. The current was just right - gentle and not too swift. Occasionally, you reach a shallow spot with more rocks and ripples, but nothing ever presented us a problem. The water depth ranges from a few inches (your paddle and bottom scrapes) to over your head. We only did the 4 mile trip since it was our first time (took an hr and a half), but we will definitely go back and do the full trip from the dam at the Pymatuning reservoir. I hope to bring my wife and daughter along next time.
