Stopped by to see the farm, lavender past blooom time so I will have to visit again in the spring. The store was open andI got some culinary lavender and other products (hand lotion, soap and aromatherapy candle). The grounds are lovely and the staff was very knowledgeable and helpful.
We stopped at the Carousel Farm on a Saturday. It is in a peaceful, rural setting. Browsed through the store, which was very nice, and then walked around the grounds. The lavender plants were beautiful and attracted numerous bees and butterflies. We enjoyed walking around and snapping pictures of the lavender. Some time we will have to come back to take the guided tour.
I visited last year and enjoyed walking the grounds but this year we joined the tour which gives the history of the buildings and takes you inside. It was exceptional. The people are wonderful, the farm gorgeous and intoxicating. What they have done is incredible. A must see!
This lavender farm in a bucolic setting is lovely when the lavender is in full bloom (late June through August). Walk through the rows of lavender and watch the bees and butterflies at work. The scent is intoxicating, and the purple haze against the evergreen backdrop is so picturesque for amazing photos.Every summer we enjoy a Bucks County day trip and visit Solebury Orchards (mmmm, cider doughnuts) after the lavender farm. Everyone is friendly and will answer all your questions. Stop and say hello to the alpacas at the fence and visit the chickens. The farm is well-tended and always immaculate. The gift shop has wonderful, high-quality items and I always buy most of my Christmas gifts while visiting in the middle of the summer. They have all sorts of lavender gifts: candles, organic lavender honey, creams/lotions/soaps, but my favorite are the woven lavender air fresheners. Squeeze and wave the wand to produce wafts of lavender scent in the room. They also sell lavender plants so you can create your own lavender field at home.
Bring your camera. The fields of blooming lavender plants make wonderful photos, from closeups with bees on the blooms, to long rows into infinity. The smell is heavenly. It is peaceful and lovely. And you can buy some soap or candles that are locally made.
Awesome soap and lotions! A Bucks County gem! The lavender products smell so good and aren't too overpowering!
The Carousel Farm is a gem...always has been, but even more so with their Lavender products. I especially like their lavender essential oil, soaps and lotions. You'll find their products in shops in nearby New Hope and Lambertville, but stop by the farm on Mechanicsville Road. It's beautiful.
Even though the day we visited was not a day they were usually open for visitors, Niko was gracious enough to welcome myself and friends since I was was from out of country and leaving the next day. We were free to wander the beautiful grounds and indulge all of our senses in the soothing fields of lavender. We eventually worked our way over to the gift shop where Niko was busy preparing for his busy weekend to come. He answered our questions, taught us the benefits of this aromatic plant and sents us on our way with loaded arms and soothed souls. A perfect last day in PA.
