Winter scenes are great when the falls are frozen-over. In the Summer time, showering under the falls is a lot of fun.
The best time to stop here is in the spring because the water levels are up. It is nice just to go and hang out.
The beauty and intricate pattern of the Falls will keep you fascinated. Best to visit on bright, dry, warm day. I will I would have visited in Spring or Summer even though the foliage was beautiful at its peak.
Great places to stop on your way to Kentuck Knob to enjoy more of the lovely PA countryside. There are several ways to view the falls but do take the walk down if you are able.
My husband and I stayed overnight at the Parker House in Confluence. We wanted to get an early start home and visited the falls on a Sunday morning around daybreak. It was wonderful to walk the stairs down and we just stood in awe of the beautiful falls and comforting sound that it made.
I visited Cucumber Falls with my mother this fall. It was very easy to find. The leaves we're changing and made a great backdrop surrounding Cucumber Falls. The steps to the fall were a little tricky as they are stone steps with leaves on them. Be careful not to slip if it is right after a rain. The fall is magnificent from the overtop of the landing. It is great from the bottom of the fall too. Remember to bring your camera!
Ran across a sign for Cucumber Waterfall and decided to stop and are we glad we did. A stairway takes you down to the base of the falls giving you a great view. Likewise, once back on top, the view is just as nice. A great stop if you enjoy any type of waterfalls. Ideal setting for picture taking.
falls is great more awesome with fall coming but I like when the water is little higher running the natural water slides were fun also.
a must see while you are here. make sure you go after a heavy storm. the falls are amazing. beautiful anytime of year
Went in the first weekend of September. Very well-marked, sort of small parking lot for the summer masses, but it was an easy walk down to the falls. You can get a decent overhead/side view from the trail above.Despite the very sunny + warm 3 days there, both times we went to Cucumber Falls the water was frigid!!!! The water was so crystal clear though. You can jump in from a rock before the falls, but it's not very deep (tuck your legs up, I'm 5'1"). Walking behind the falls is a great time but a little slick, just be careful. The first time we went around 16:00 and the falls are set so deep, it was very dark and cold. We returned the following day around 12:30 and everything was much prettier/easier to see.
Im so glad we stopped here. Beautiful falls! Wear proper shoes. Jagged rock steps are wet and slippery. Park at the top and walk down to the falls viewing area. Great photo ops! You can get as close as you want to. Stay at a distance or climb behind the falls.
Don't miss the short walk to this beautiful falls. Great picture spot. We went after a rain so the steps were a bit slippery. Some people actually went right under the falls which was refreshing since it was very hot the day we visited.
It is nature's little hideaway filled with love reborn every time one visits it! Cucumber Falls is a special getaway for young love to blossom and for senior love to grow and bloom over and over again.
Beautiful waterfall right off the road, just a five minute walk. Waterfall itself is gorgeous and the river it is on a great for exploring. We are not big hikers so this was perfect, we walked to where it opens to the river for a great view. Then we had a little adventure trying to get across the rocks to the other side of the stream where we were able to walk behind the waterfall. My 13 and 10 year old girls absolutely loved this experience as they felt like they were on an adventure and going behind the waterfall was very 'cool' to them. Great picture opportunity and great memory for the kids. This isn't a big challenging hike, but it is a nice excursion if you know what to expect.
We had a great time walking down the trails and walking behind the falls. The kids loved climbing up, down, over and on the rocks. The bridal veil created by the fall was amazing.
