Yep it's true! Gardening is for everyone...

I was here for the Apple and Cheese Festival while visiting some friends. The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful and all willing to answer any and all questions. Aside from the special tables of the event, there's a classroom greenhouse that I was told hosts events for adults and children year-round. The selection of plants and gifts was really unique.

Creekside Gardens is for both adults and children. I took my three grandchildren, ages 8,6, and 3, to see the Butterfly House, but the gardens and ponds held their attention as well. There are fish and frogs and all kinds of plants. There is a separate children's garden which is fun and a gift shop also. Programs are offered all year long to the younger set.The highlight of our visit was the Butterfly House. Monarch butterflies and a couple of other varieties are housed in a screened-in structure until their release in September. A guide is there to give a lesson on butterflies and lets you feed them with a liquid on a long stick. The butterflies can be held as long as you don't touch their wings. Sometimes they land on someone's head or shoulders! It was a worthwhile and fun visit! There is a small fee for the Butterfly House and fees apply for special children's projects. The gardens themselves are free to view.
