While we tend to ski out west, our friends asked us to join in on a trip to Boyne this March. Being that this is the midwest we were very cautious with our expectations and Boyne over exceeded anything we could have hoped for in Michigan. The resort does a great job with the trails all of which were open on our trip. They boast having 60 runs which may be true but is a bit of a stretch when you look at the mountain. As a solid BLUE out west Skier I was able to do all the runs on this mountain without hesitation. This is a great midwest ski spot.

Plenty of black runs. The greens are mostly grouped together all on one side of the mountain. It's a great place to ski with buddies as it has great bars. The Eagles Nest on the mountain is a must for a mid-day drink and warm up. The fireplace is sweet and the view can't be beat. Maybe not the place for food though as choices are very limited. Try the Trophy Room for lunch.

we have been to Boyne Mountain several times, and have always had a great time! Whether zip lining or skiing we have great service in a great atmosphere! I'm not sure there is any more that I can say; if you are doing ski trips in Michigan, then Boyne Mountain has to be one of your stops!

My husband and I took one son and two granddaughters to Boyne Mountain. We stayed at the Mountain Villa Condos and could walk(even in ski boots) a very short distance to the Boyneland lift. Our condo was super clean and very nice with a gas fire place. It had two bedrooms with a loft in one bedroom. It also had two baths. We had an easy walk to the main ski complex which includes restaurants and the Grand Lodge, plus the Clock Tower with the Snowflake Lounge. Our package included a delicious buffet breakfast that everyone enjoyed. We brought food for lunches and two dinners and just liked hanging out at our condo in the evening with our wine watching TV with the granddaughters. We went during the week and it was not crowded. No wait for the lifts and the slopes were well groomed. If you stay on Boyne property senior citizens ski free which is a nice plus. It was super cold but we all had the right gear to keep us warm. Everyone had a great visit. All staff was very accommodating and pleasant.

I don't get up to Boyne as much as I'd like, but as always, the skiing was great. I would do just about anything to move the ski rental facilities to the main floor, because getting up and down slippery stone steps in ski boots, holding equipment is no fun, especially for the kids. Stuck to greens this year, since we were with our 5 and 7 year olds, but still managed to have one great day out! The rest of our trip was wayyyy too cold to ski. :( Hoping to get up there one more time before the melt!

Awesome skiing! There was 13 of us and we rented a house about 1/2 hour away. You can save on lunch, we took a cooler of sandwiches for lunch and ate in the cafeteria while sitting by the fire.We are going back in March and staying in a condo for ski in and ski out.

I had never been "downhill" anything, only cross country skiing. I had a blast my first time snowboarding and wasn't nervous or scared. There were plenty of longer slopes to learn on.

This was my first time to the Mountain. I haven't skied in years and was happy to see so many Greens to warm up on. After a couple of hours, I was on the Blues and Blacks. It was so much fun. We also did some snow shoeing which was in the woods.Had a great condo and enjoyed the company of my friends.

We spent two days skiing Boyne Mountain and had a terrific time. The runs were all in great condition and the staff were all very friendly. Thank you

Loved the place we rented a cabin here had a great time but on day 3 of 4 of daughters snowboard was stolen. So beware and watch your gear or chech it in very hard lesson to learn. They should have signs that this is a problem and to check your gear in, I know we should have . I thought it was safe since its a nice place and not cheap to stay here or ski. Oh well don't see us getting it back, security took our name and number and a description of the board. It was only one season old.

This is one of the better Midwest ski resorts. They have a variety of terrain for the beginning to expert skier and snowboarder. Free area with magic carpet for those just starting out. 6 man high speed lift to get you to top of hill quickly. Runs are shorter than the eastern or western resorts, but you still get a lot of skiing in. Water park, pool, and spa located on property if you get tired of skiing. On property restaurants are a bit pricey. Mom and pop restaurants and a few chain restaurants located in towns anywhere from a couple miles to 20 miles away. Boyne Mountain's sister resort, Boyne Highlands, is located about 30 miles away.

Great first time ski experience for my two boys. Boyne is well organized and we were able to rent our equipment in very quick fashion and get on the slopes. The ski school instructors were very friendly and would say Hello to you and ask how you were doing the following days on the mountain. Unfortunately, a lot green runs were not open yet but we did have some other good selection of runs and my older son and I even ventured onto a blue run as well. The long runs through the woods are very pretty and constant snowfall made the experience a winter wonderland. If you are new to skiing, Boyne has a substantial beginner's area with free lift tickets to that area if you are renting the ski equipment from them or taking a lesson that day. We saved one day of lift tickets as our boys were still learning to ski on the first full day.

First family ski trip up north.I can;t really compare to other resorts or ski facilities, because I have limited experience. We had short/manageable waits, and the open runs seemed well-maintained.Staff were friendly and polite. Many of the skiers/snowboarders were surprisingly family friendly (I overheard a few times young adults admonishing their friends to watch their language, although I never heard any extreme language).I look forward to our next time.

There are plenty of runs to choose from for all abilities, and they are longer runs than some of the other ski resorts in the area. There hasn't been much snow this year, so a lot of the runs were not open yet. That being the case, we still had enou gh green runs to keep us busy for the day.

Went the weekend before Christmas, much less crowded than we expected. The lines weren't long at all, and they are making snow. Cold enough up there (20 degrees colder than Detroit) so no slush, but conditions did get icy as the day went on.
