I am a big fan of Frank Lloyd Wright and try to see his work when it is in the area that I am in.I enjoyed this home and enjoyed seeing how Steelcase has put so much effort into bringing it back up to its formor glory.

Touring this house is like stepping into the past. It is so tastefully done by bringing it as close to the original that you can't help feeling that FLR may walk in anytime. This house is a real treasure to Grand Rapids.

How could I have lived in Grand Rapids most of my life and not gone to the Meyer May house. I knew so little about it that I thought "Meyer May" was two last names. My family drove all the way to Pennsylvania to see two Frank Lloyd Wright homes before we went to this one in our own back yard. If you like architecture or Frank Lloyd Wright you need to go to see the Meyer May house. First, the tour is free. Compare this to $25 for the Falling Waters house tour. Second, the docents are friendly and informative. It was enjoyable just to talk with them about the house. Third, it is a beautiful home and the first I where I would say " I would like to live here". Other of Wright's homes are beautiful but weren't very livable (for example 18 inch hallways). The Meyer May House is in great shape and easy to tour. The video at the beginning of the tour is around 30 minutes long so factor that into your time there. The video is getting a little dated but still offers a lot of good information on the restoration of the home. You really need to schedule a visit if you live in Grand Rapids or are just visiting.

I love his brilliance in architecture, his color selections, his style of furniture, and the traffic pattern of this house. I have been there 4 times with friends. I am in awe each time.

Went in Nov. 2014 with out of town guests. Very personalize tour. Guide was very knowledgeable. We had a group of only 6 people.

Very well preserved Frank Lloyd Wright home. Interesting guided tours and a short film that explains the restoration process

Visit starts with a video describing the history of the Meyer May House and Frank Lloyd Wright. The docent did an outstanding job describing the architecture and the design intent. The detailed preservation/restoration of the home is impressive.

I have been in few F.L.W. houses and this is one of the best restored and most originally presented. Throw in the fact that the tours are free, yup free, this is the best way to spend a couple of hours.

Reading the name "Meyer May House" several times, I didn't realize this was a FLW house. I finally looked into it after looking for a last minute activity and the fact that it was so highly rated. We were not disappointing! Even my 15 yr old hard-to-impress daughter enjoyed it. The docents were friendly and really know their stuff. The only negative we had was the couple on the tour that had obviously been everywhere, knew everything about FLW, and couldn't wait to let everyone know how much they knew. The docent did a good job managing them and the small children in our group.

If you are a fan of Frank Lloyd Wright - or just interested in architecture or history in general - you should not miss this home! Steelcase Corporation is to be commended for the meticulous restoration of this architectual gem. Equally amazing is that admission is free! The tour begins with a brief film that details the history of the home and the restoration. You are then guided through the home by docents who are passionate about the home, its history, and its contents. You are given time to look about the home and the guides are always more than willing to answer questions. Do visit!

Steelcase has done a beautiful job restoring the house to its original charm. The docents are passionate about sharing the history, snd unique features.

Wife and I both loved our visit -- my wife, not typically a fan of Frank Lloyd Wright, was surprised how much she enjoyed it. Nice way to spend an afternoon inside from the Grand Rapids cold. Guide was enthusiastic and held our attention, gave plenty of story and room to take pictures and build our appreciation for what we were seeing. Give probably a good 90 minutes (2 hours?) to invest here, between the video and the guided tour. Definitely worthwhile.

Ive actually performed quite a bit of work on this Frank Lloyd classic. Private tours are available and the house is amazing. One hour or so is all that's necessary.

I was fortunate to have a private tour led by the House's senior docent. The restoration was an incredible undertaking by Steelcase. The design of the house is a prime example of Wright's Prairie Style.
