My wife and I were in the area going to various wineries and Longview was our second stop. Upon entering the door, we were greeted with a warm smile, two clean glasses and great conversation. We are not from Traverse City and Alan was very cordial to give us information about the area, sights to see and what wineries he would recommend. Alan is a natural story teller and knew how to make us feel right at home. He is very proud of his wines, and rightfully so, they were delicious! The pours were very generousness, and they were all complimentary. Longview Winery will be at the very top of our list when we make a return visit, and we would highly recommend it to all of our friends!

Our 1st visit was 2 years ago and it surpassed this 2nd visit. The staff were much more helpful and interested in conversing with us on our prior visit. We found on this visit that they were out of a few of the wines that we specifically stopped there for. Overall we love Longview, but I hope the employees improve before our next visit.

I have travelled to Napa and Sonoma this year. Michigan holds it's own for certain wines. This winery is attached to a small diner and the winemaker host was both charming and informative. The wine here is very good. We ended up getting 6 bottles for future summer nights. I recommend this place. Free pours too.

This is one of the smaller wineries on the Leelenau Peninsula but it's my favorite! The staff is friendly and very helpful and the wine is superb!

We have been to Longview many times now, but just love to listen to Alan talk about his life, his wines, and his family! Longview wines are some of my favorites too!

I was traveling with a group of friends on the Toast the Season Wine Tour and Longview Winery was one of our favorites of the trip. We sampled the featured Cherry Wine and Cherry Marshmallow Fudge, both of which were delicious, and then tried several other wines from the list. Ten tastes were offered, which was by far the most on the tour and they were all very enjoyable. I liked that this is a very small winery and could tell both the farm and restaurant are a labor of love for the owners and their families and friends. We'll definitely be back!

A great little winery tucked away in Cedar Michigan. They offer free tastings of all of their wines (about 10 total) and also offer meads. This is one of the smaller wineries, I don't think they sell their wines in the grocery stores, so you should definitely check them out!

We make it point to go to Longview whenever we visit the Leelanau Peninsula. The wines are exceptional (the 2011's are so tasty) and the staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. This is one of the few wineries in the area that still provides a free tasting and I think doing that really pays off for them. People are more likely to buy if they can taste the wines they are interested in without a fee. We left with a case of the ones we liked best. If you are lucky, the owner Alan will be behind the bar. The passion he has for what he does makes you want to start a winery of your own. He's a a great guy and a lot of fun to talk to.

This family owned winery was a delightful surprise we found while doing the Leelanau Peninsula drive. Friendly owners, great wine and a tranquil, out-of-the-way setting made for a wonderful oenophilic experience.

We cannot go to Traverse City for a weekend without a stop at Longview. I believe we've been going since it first opened for tasting, and it's only gotten better since. The wines are amazing. There isn't one thing they make that we don't like. Because it's a boutique winery, you can't buy their wines anywhere downstate, and so we stock up any time we go. Alan Eaker (the owner) has been our host on more than one occasion, and was this time as well. He let us try everything on the menu (at no charge, smart!) and we walked out with a case of wine. Because we bought a case, he gave us a case discount of 15% off as well. What a steal! We highly recommend his Rustic White and Rustic Red. His Cherry Wine is also the best in the area for really authentic cherry taste. His ice wine is also amazing--worth the splurge if you have a special occasion coming up or something worth celebrating. One year he had a Northern De-Light wine that was to die for--he hasn't made it since, but it was well worth every penny at the time. His ice wine is the same.Alan is always full of interesting stories and you feel very welcome standing at his tasting bar. I am told the food next door is excellent (owned by his son) but we haven't had a chance to try it yet. I do believe they serve their wines there as well. Longview is a not-to-miss winery in the TC area. We make it up about 3-4 times a year and never miss a chance to drive to Cedar, even with a baby in tow!!
