meridian historical village

Wonderful historical village to take young children to...schoolhouse etc. Park-like atmosphere. Adjacent to a pavilion where they have the farmers market on Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout the summer. Be sure to eat from the Purple Carrot food truck while you are there.

Attended one of the summer's free "Music in the Park" event held at the Meridian Historical Park. The park consists of a number of old buildings including a general store, school, chapel, house, barn, plank road toll house, etc. A great learning experience for kids. Also great for adults. They have many groups touring this facility. Nicely up kept. Stop and enjoy. Check beforehand when it will be open.

The historical village near the Meridian Farmer's Market and the Meridian government complex is arranged in a scenic area alongside a pond and wooded area. When the buildings are open to the public, the interiors are decorated with period furnishings.
