I thought we'd only spend an hour, maybe a bit more, but we spent near two hours, left, and then returned again the same day! It was amazing and stuffed full of interesting things. Mastadons were my favorite part, and how informative it all was.

Small so you can navigate the facility without being overwhelmed. Excellent for younger children. Planetarium show was ok.

Took grandchildren for day trip, easy to find, could have better available parking, FREE, they loved it.

Stopped here for a couple hours. Great display of dinosaur bones. Really liked the mammal area. If you have some time to kill, definitely make a stop here.

The facility itself is well maintained and very clean. isn't great and isn't terrible.Average is the best way to sum it up.

My son liked this place. It was a last minute trip and was worth it. The best part is that it's free, but they do appreciate donations. There is approximately 3 floors full of educational opportunities. I just wish there was more parking. We visited in January and everything was ice covered. So it was fun sliding to the museum and back to the car. And it was raining. We go through it in less than an hour, but we were on a time restriction. It can easily take a few hours to get through. I would visit again.

Have enjoyed each visit to the Museum of Natural History. It is always a must see when we are there to babysit. Always a new exhibit to explore as as our grandson gets older. keep up the good effort.

Collections on dinosaurs was systematic, and interesting - I was surprised to know from the presentations that elephants once roamed Michigan !

My husband and I visited with our three daughters 14, 11 and 8. The facility itself is well maintained and very clean. The exhibits kept our daughters entertained for about three hours or so. All of the exhibits were exceptional especially for a smaller sized museum. Our 8 year old daughter is a huge dinosaur lover and she was completely enthralled with the dinosaur floor. Plenty of hands on things that they can touch and feel. The fossils were exceptional. This museum has a planetarium and offers different programs for $5.00 per person. Although it was on the smaller side, the planetarium was very clean and looked brand new. The presentation was absolutely one of the best we have ever seen and the gal who gave it was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and really knew what she was talking about. Definitely worth the $5.00.We parked on the street where there was metered parking. The cost was $1.50 per hour so bring quarters. The meters did not take credit cards.Great staff and just a wonderful experience all around!

When visiting the University of Michigan campus, especially with children, make it a point to spend some time in the Museum of Natural History. Located right next to the School of Dentistry, this museum is worth 2-3 hours of your time. Enjoy!

Good variety of displays and enjoyable information included. Dino area, Michigan wildlife collection and great geological display. All this and more in a beautiful building.

It's definitely worth a visit to this free-admission museum, as you can look at real fossil dinosaurs, of several different species.

This museum is every nerd's dream. It doesn't have many frills or touristy qualities that some museums now have. BUT it was very informative and interesting. Especially to dinosaur lovers. One of the best parts was that it was FREE (except for parking, or a donation IF you wanted to make one)! We went on a Friday morning, so it was fairly quiet and allowed us to take pictures and take our time without interruptions.

This museum is staffed with friendly, helpful workers, and I thoroughly enjoyed my visit there. The dinosaur exhibits are wonderful! They are interesting and informative and up-to-date. I learned a lot on my visit there, and will be going back. The building has four floors including the largest display of dinosaurs in Michigan with the world's largest mastodon trackway on display! There's a Planetarium with shows, and so much more to see. Birds and other wildlife of Michigan and plant life are displayed, both current species and extinct. There's so much to see here that it will take hours, or if that's too long you can always come back. There is no charge for this museum but they suggest a donation at the door, which will help maintain the museum, and it is well worth it.There is a gift store there where you can purchase a souvenir of your visit if you choose to. There is a butterfly garden just outside of the museum and, weather and climate permitting, you might find some butterflies there, and it's always worth a shot. The building's shape and structure are also interesting to see, and is well-kept and clean. There are elevators and stairs to the floors, and restrooms are easily accessible. There is enough room in the building so it doesn't feel crowded at all even if there are lots of people there. I thoroughly enjoyed my trip there.

The trip to the Museum of Natural History was very informative. The facility was a little warm and humid.
