Enjoy playing some poker and slot machines. Clean and not crowded. Though not a big gambler, I have a lot of fun. I look forward to our next trip.
For a BOYD Gaming casino we were Disappointed. We stayed there with My Husbands Sisters who had comped rooms. The Hotel staff were friendly as well as the cleaning staff, and bell men. The Lady at the players club however seemed indifferent and answered our questions with short indifferent answers. When asked if they had Birthday Month promotions She answered shortly, those only come in the mail. Is this the policy or did She just not want to be bothered??? We were expecting this to just like the IP a BOYD casino in Biloxi, We were wrong!!!! It is not!!! Maybe Management needs to be an undercover Boss or guest to find out why their guest are treated differently at the two properties!!! We lost $100 in less than an hour, so we went some where else to gamble that night. of the four casinos we visited during our stay, Sam's Town would come in 3rd. Maybe they could pick up some tips from the staff at their Sister casino the IP. in Biloxi on guest relations!!!
Room stinked. The smell of smoke was so strong it almost knocked you out. We tried and tried to get the smell out of the room, had reserved a non-smoking but they gave it away. Also asked for a crib and didn't get it for 24 hours. NOT PLEASED
Gambling here was a lot of fun. The lunch buffet was affordable and excellent. They had amazing bar-b-que. The arcade is very small. The staff was incredibly rude. Many times when people were waiting in line, the staff either completely ignored them or walked away all together. I am used to casinos putting a little effort into customer service. Most hotels in this area were like that.
Was large alot of walking took along time to get signed in at the keosk thing to get a card. Slots were fun drinks were better...
We visited Tunica in December, during that terrible ice storm. This hotel was our first stop on the evening, but all of the restaurants were either closed or under construction. We will visit sometime in the future and give a full review.
This was the only casino in the area that had full pay "Jacks or Better" video poker (6/9 for flush/full house). As a bonus there are a few drink stations scattered throughout the casino.
I have been to Sam's Town many times since they opened in Tunica. They like all the other casinos in the area are feeling the poor economy and it is reflected in the service. Had breakfast at the buffet and it was okay, nothing special. The grits were cold. Not sure that I would waste money going back to eat.I do enjoy playing at Sam's. Of course the slots are fewer than before and pay out less than they used to, but that is a result of fewer guests. All in all, it is an okay place and it is close to home for me. I wouldn't travel long distances to go there.
This is a SMOKING CASINO, they all are in Tuncia but they have an upstairs and it seems better there. No gambling tables on upper floor so less smoke. Same slots. But the best thing was the Buffet for 9.99 lunch with beer or wine included. WOW. Food was wonderful and the people great. So if nothing else go there for lunch. Dinner was $15.99 but it is worth every cent.
Nothing new to expect here if you have been to a Sams Town. Older casino - buffet average - rooms adequate, but with good beds and bedding. Very clean.
Had a great time at Sam's Town. Friendly fun people. I always win here when I dont win anywhere else. Buffet is really good and you can always find a discount here and there.
The whole time we were here I never heard anyone winning big. I'm not expecting to win alot but just enough to let me keep playing while I'm there. I even tried playing progressive to win big and it just sucked the money right out of my pockets. Seems the slots in St. Louis Area are better at paying out.
I really like it here at Sam's Town. The slots seem to pay a bit better and the atmosphere is cheery. My only complaint is that the buffet is pretty bad. Stuff is usally dried out and not very tasty, very bland. But if you can afford Twain's Steakhouse I had one of the best steaks ever there. A really great dining experience.
There were lots of food selections and the servers were very attendant. The price was right with all the beer and wine desired.
Light, noise, action. Typical casino. Lots of machines and tables. So if that is what you want this is your place. There are a few non smoking areas. Eat before you go, the buffets and restaurants are not very good.
