The shops in Olde Mistick Village are so unique and interesting. Sure, there are some "touristy" shops with the standard Tshirts and shot glasses, but there is also a handful of shops to find one -of -a -kind items. A jewelry store with all blown glass beads made in Italy, a western shop with gorgeous leather, a great toy store with above average items and my favorite, a kitchen store. None of the stores are outrageously priced, and there is something for everyone. We were pleasantly surprised they remained open over the winter.
Went just before Christmas and all the decorations were out. Was raining the date we went, but have been here numerous times. Always a good take.
Good concentration of various shops. Mystic trinkets abound! Nice stop on way out of Mystic, or on a rainy day as shops are in close proximity to each other.
warm summer day, had a very nice time and FREE just look around different store, love the duck pond just a nice free day, a tourist trap if your buying
It was fun to walk around and visit the shops. The grounds are beautiful with a pond filled with ducks...
It's really a bit of a tourist trap. What's great is Mango fire wood Pizza, Mr. & Mrs. Claus Thanksgiving weekend, and the duck pond. Other than that it is not a "true" antique village - but it does look like one; there are overpriced stores there, and some overrated restaurants. You are better off going into Mystic (town) and Stonington Burough. It is an alternative to those who don't want to stray and explore.
The Olde Mystic Village is a nice little area for craft stores, unique culinary experiences, clothing and nautical products! There is ample free parking and it's located very close to the interstate and other area attractions. There are numerous hotels nearby also! Nice way to spend a half day or a few hours when not visiting one of the other attractions!
If you're in Mystic, you won't want to miss Old Mystick Village--a quaint, pretty collection of shops, tasty cafes, a movie theater and a couple of recognizable but good restaurants. Even if you're not looking to buy, it's a pleasant spot to explore. Normally, I'm not a shopper, but I love wandering through these shops with their unique offerings. It's the anti-mall for the rest of us!
Alot of different types of shops...something for everyone....close to the aquarium and hotels...mystic pizzaz also close by....downtown mystic also great
My family and I are constantly come to the Village. The shops are wonderful and everyone that works there are always friendly. It is nice to know that the staff seam to remember you. Every time we go into Mystical Elements we are greeted with a nice warm hello. Mango's has the best food around.
It is a quaint place to spend a few hours in the Mystic area. There are cute little shops, selling novelty items both expensive and otherwise, a good number of food options, even a movie theatre (it was closed when I went though). The people seemed friendly for the most part. A lot of photo ops too.
Spent less than 1 hour here. It was pretty cold to walk around in February. I'm sure it's a better experience when the weather is warmer. Loved the chocolate and gummy candies from Munson's. I wish the movie theater was open later. The general store was fun to walk around.
This shopping area is set up as a New England town. There are lot of specialty shops, a movie theater, plenty of parking. It is next to the aquarium. Not a destination, but stop in if doing other things in Mystic.
Was very disappointed with the women at the fudge counter, asked for 1 pound of fudge in1/4 pound intervals chose four flavors came up to almost two pounds her response was we only cut 1/2 pound blocks. Extremely rude. Very caddy.
I've been to mystic many times and this is my first time here. I'm glad I found it! It's an adorable little old fashioned "town" of stores. Great stores with something for everyone. I got some great items and had a nice time. I'd go back for sure!
