Lots of good Vietnamese food at Eden center. There are many restaurants here, I only went to the ones that I already went before. For the best fruit drink smoothies with bubbles @ great price and good portion, I recommend Thanh Phong Tofu place, their XOI and khoai mi are great, service is good. If you spend > $25, they will give you 1/2 gallon of soy milk sua dau nanh for free, for noodle dish (Mi Kho^) I highly recommend Hai Ky Mi Gia @ Eden Center. For noodle with Duck ( Mi Vit Tiem), I recommend Huong Viet ! Viet Royal is good place for family dinner, little bit more formal than the other restaurants. Cafe Metro is excellent for Do Nhau ( Appetizers, hor d 'oeuvres), it's not a place for young children to eat.
Eden Center is kind of like the china town of VA. You will find lots of restaurants, grocery stores, and apartment complexes in the area. To get to eden center take route 50 towards falls church. I have to warn you though traffic is a big mess between 3 - 6 PM during the week. The gate is kind of cool to see, and I believe you will find many gyms as well. Planet fitness, gold's gym, etc. There is also a park down the street from eden center that has water parks, mini golf, and a batting cage.
have heard about this place but never been there, and it featured in various TV Chef's show and always bill as a destination for Vietnamese food. I was nearby dinning in a Chinese restaurant, and see the Gate which looks like a Chinatown gate. Decided to investigate. The place is divided into various section. It has Asian grocery store, plenty of Vietnamese restaurants and cafe. Jewellery store, hair salon, herbal shop, pharmacy, travel agent, even a pawn broker.... It also won the Best of DC 2014 Best Shopping Centre Award by the City Paper. All in all, it is fun. For me, it is the choice of Vietnamese restaurant that is the main attraction.
This is definitely the one stop shop in the area... For whatever your heart desires is right in this corner... Want a Vietnamese deli? It's right here... Want PHO? No worries it's all right here.... Asian market? Look no further.... My favorite Bahn Mi is at Song Que. They've been here since forever, unfortunately they will be closing soon but never fret, there is at least three other delis in this shopping center... I only wish I lived near... Sigh
If you are a Vietnamese, you probably don't need a review of this place. It is very well known in the Vietnamese community. If you are another nationality, you may find this large Vietnamese mall an interesting cultural experience. I used to live a block from this mall. Things you can find there are: very authentic restaurants (I find them a bit fishy), Asian type jewelry, hairstylists, Vietnamese groceries, and stores with tourist type trinkets. But some parts may be a little on the rough side, so go with someone else or a group (especially at night) if you want company.
If you want to eat authentic Vietnamese food, this is a place to visit. Parking is difficult on weekend, but with patience, you will find one in no time. On our last visit, we discovered a restaurant (i.e. Thanh Truc Restaurant) that serves really good Com Tam Bi. Like it!
As a major gathering of Vietnamese restaurants, jewelry stores, delis and small grocery stores, Eden Center is always busy. Parking can be a problem, especially on the weekends but worth the effort. The food is authentic and the prices are very reasonable. Be sure to try the Bubble drinks at the deli's and some restaurants. Safety used to be a concern but not heard any negative news recently.
But you have to endure bad, congested parking (don't take your nice car); I've been to several restaurants and while the food is very good for the most part, the service has never been stellar - even back in the day when Four Sisters was here. Rice Paper is now the 'anchor' restaurant in my opinion. The shops are ok - lots of jewelry places. I've never purchased anything here but know someone who is Vietnamese who thinks you can get good deals here. Nothing has ever 'talked' to me for purchase. There are a lot of really good Vietnamese food in the Metro D.C. area though. Eden Center just gives you a bit more with the bubble tea and shops.
Excellent place to have authentic Vietnamese food! There are many choices of restaurants, all Vietnamese. The center also has supermarkets, gold shops, vietnamese coffee shops, vietnamese music and films. There is also a great tofu shop.
This is an oasis for the Vietnamese business community: groceries, restaurants, jewelry stores, hair salon, etc. Do not limit your visit to the exterior stores that you see from the parking lot, go inside the mall and you will find a lot of interesting stores and restaurants. My favorite is the Than Soh, this place sells a lot of soy products: soft tofu, fried tofu and even BBQ tofu (that has the texture of chicken, this is the only way I can get my son to eat tofu). Eden Center is a good place to spend an afternoon to browse around while enjoying a bubble tea and then have an early dinner in one of the restaurants.
This is a big complex of restaurants, shops, delis and grocery store in Falls Church. It's not far from DC by car but it's a bit difficult to reach through public transportation. It's really authentic Vietnamese in every sense. The small grocery store (a bigger one is coming towards the end of 2013), for example is full of vegetables you'll have difficulty recognizing. It's a very interesting, authentic experience. Come with an open mind to sample the real experience of Vietnam. Who knew you could find a piece of Vietnam so close to DC, the only thing missing are the motorbikes!
Eden is a great place to experience Vietnamese culture. From Pho, Pandan Rice, and Bubble Tea to 22kt gold. There's always something new to discover and take home. Try Rice Paper restaurant for good Pho. Try the green and orange sweet sticky rice and a Taro smoothie.
We stopped in to look around. Lots of bakeries and lots of restaurants! Competition makes it that you can get a good deal...
If you are at all curious about Vietnamese culture, this is a must see destination. The shops/restaurants are all Vietnamese. The food is great, and the groceries sell all the Asian food you might find in Vietnam. The Pho (soup) is very good. The jewelry stores sell 18k gold. Parking is a challenge at times. The whole center was converted from an existing shopping center. Although most of the shoppers are Vietnamese, the locals also find this place as a good place for a meal and a change from the ordinary.
Awesome place to get authentic Vietnamese food and imported Vietnamese products.. Parking hard to find especially on the weekend
