I came here for early season deer hunting. As it was mentioned by other, security is just equivalent to getting on a military base. Bomb check while being openly eyed by a trigger happy guard with auto weapon.I found the WMA was fairly well maintained, especially considering it is run by a single person. There are deers on the property, but I was unable to see any of them. Duck hunting should be marvelous there.One thing you should NOT neglect is mosquito repellent!!! If you forgot it for some reason, turn back and get some, especially if it was raining recently. I was practically eaten alive and lost a pint of blood while being there.

The security at the end of the road is CRAZY, they have automatic weapons and like to show them off.

Since 9/11 the nuclear power plant has taken control of entry into the park. Do to the close proximity it is now mandatory to go through a safety check which includes a bomb search of your car, a background check of you license and declaration of any firearms in your vehicle. Once done they give you a card that you carry with you to prove you have been through the gambit. Once into the park, I found we were the only ones. The park has seen its better days. The observation towers are looking in dismay. You find yourself looking through overgrown trees and shrubs that have not seen attention in some time. Our trip lasted all of 20 minutes. Not worth it.
