alexandria presbyterian church

The picture here is Christ Church. The Presbyterian church is a good visit too, but this is not that. Christ Church has great tour fuides.

......... I say that because one can imagine attending a service in the steamy summers of Virginia w/o AC would put anybody to sleep. The simplicity of the structure is in line with the denomination's modest displays. A nice bit of history to check out. Several special seasonal music events are offered throughout the year. Otherwise the church and grounds worth a 1/2 hour stop.

there is a graveyard on the grounds of this church. One of the ladies came out to the graveyard and shared lots of interesting facts, i.e. George Washington stood on the grounds and spoke, some of the oldest tombstones in the area are there, and some well-known Alexandria residents. She pointed out which streets had the most historical appeal. Overall, the grounds at this church are well-maintained and worth a look.

Although the caretaker had closed the church for the day(4.00PM) he over-rode the receptionist's decision that we were too late to view the churchinside.Clearly the man is very proud of his work in keeping the interior of this church in perfect cleanliness. It is a beautiful place of worship with lovely glass and furnishings. Not only that he can give explanations and answers to any question.He was a true southerner and one who will be remembered long after other memories have faded.

I was very impressed by the ministers, the service, the friendliness. If I lived in Alexandria, I would definitely go to this church. This is quite a progressive group of Christians.

I love this church! Friendly, warm, welcoming environment with solid biblical teaching.

The church and the service were beautiful. The parishioners were friendly, and made us feel very welcome. Even invited us to have coffee & donuts after the service. If you are visiting from out of town and wish to attend a Sunday service, you will feel very comfortable here.

Daughter married in church... its worth walking around the grounds and looking inside the church. Quite afew notables have attended service there.

This is a great salt of the earth bible believing church. The people are friendly and the services are great.
