Absolutely love Ladies night and the owners are just wonderful, good hearted people who have poured their heart and soul into this business to make it just right for all who visit. Ladies Night is a time to relax, sip some wine, enjoy a few snacks and paint a hand picked ceramic to gift or keep.Staff is always friendly and eager to please. Stop by for their specialty classes and kids camps they will not disappoint!
I actually got a chance to come to Glazenfyre for a team building. I didn't know what to expect, but it really was a lot of fun. I am far from artistic and the extent of my creativity is paint by numbers, so I was extremely nervous about painting ceramic. If you aren't an artsy person, my suggestion would be to pick a ceramic piece that is small and flat. I actually selected a ladybug to paint and needless to say it was a little challenging, but it was fun. There were also glassworks/fusings that you can make if you aren't into ceramics. I didn't see the paint canvas, but then again, I wasn't looking for it either. So you can paint on a canvus. Of course it's fun to take your kids here, however it's actually not a bad place to take a date. You'll get a chance to see how creative your date/spouse/boyfriend can be. Also there are what I call "paint & sip" nights where you can paint and sip wine. This is great for girls night out type of thing. Most of the ceramic figurines are in the $10 - $20 range. So they aren't terribly expensive. There were some pieces that were roughly $7 or $8. So if you are on a budget, there's a little something for everyone.Overall, the staff was super friendly and helpful. For the most part they leave you to your own devices, but they're there to make sure you have what you need in order to have fun and create some masterpieces. Upon completion of your masterpiece, it will be ready for pickup in about a week. I would highly recommend!
Very disappointed in Glazenfyre. I I took my 2 kids in to Glazenfyre on a Saturday evening and it happened to be 10 minutes before they closed. My kids painted for the 10 minutes that we're left and we came back the next day. Glazenfyre charged a "studio fee" for coming back the next day even though they only painted for 10 minutes! For the icing on the cake, my 6 year old son carried his craft to the employee and dropped it on the way on accident. He was obviously very upset so I asked for another one and was shocked when they said I had to pay the full price all over again! I didn't want it for free, but to charge the full price when they don't have to glaze and fire but one craft is very poor customer service. On return to pick up our kids crafts the staff defended their practices and said my son was walking around with it, which is a lie. He walked straight to the employee and wasn't wandering around as they suggested. They also gave no instructions of what to do with the craft once it was complete. Go to ColorMeMine in Norfolk or Virginia Beach instead.
this is a great way to spend and evening or afternoon. the value is good - you only get charged studio fees while you are painting and the prices on pieces are reasonable. the staff is super helpful and supportive. the best though is the owners. this is a true example of labor of love - scott and diana clearly care about the business and art and creativity - the atmosphere is nice and inspiring and bright. special events are great so check those out. and also check out the non painting glass events. really great community addition.
Last minute. Looking for something for my family to do and trip advisor recommended this place. Staff was very professional and patient. Our daughter felt right at home and comfortable. Definitely a new favorite for the family.
I've visited Glazenfyre twice with my young kids. The staff if friendly, helpful, and patient. There is no limit to the number of paints and they have a great selection of pottery pieces to choose from (the craft/party room has additional smaller pieces that are good for kids). Though this is an expensive activity, the quality of the pieces and paints makes for good keepsakes.
