wise county historical society museum

We were Decatur Texas going to Eagle Canyon my husband was racing & I was corner working. Which we love by the way! We were there a day early so thought we would do some site seeing. we went to Wise County Museum. The people were very nice! The Museum was very interesting & informative. We loved walking all levels & learning about Northwest Baptist College. If you are ever in Decatur this is a must!

Our visit was for genealogical research which we had not done before. Two amazing people were guiding us and helping us with the research, even past their lunch time. No time for the museum but there is so much there to see, we will definitely return.

If you are researching family genealogy in the Wise County, Texas, area, this is the place to go. They have very good resources and provide help in researching their material. In addition there is a museum on site that is open 10 am to 3 pm, Monday through Saturday, that only charges a small fee.
