We stayed here for a weekend back in October. It's a quiet and a beautiful place for a nice weekend getaway. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Our Casita was very clean, well kept, and cozy. We got fresh baked pastries and juice every morning. It is also a very dog friendly place. The owner even left us doggie treats in our Casita. No check-in, check-out hassles, simple instructions, and no one around to bother us. I would definitely come back.

My friends & I decided to have my bachelorette party here...and we are SO glad we did. Our group of 7 had a blast learning how to cook some amazing dishes, explore some new tastes, and enjoy the company of new friends. We weren't really sure what to expect with the cooking class (maybe that we were cooking just for ourselves), but it was delightful to cook a meal for a large group and try new things! Sibby & her team were fun, funny, & helpful as we navigated our way around the kitchen. Everything came together beautifully and we had an amazing meal...complete with recipes she shared with us after the fact! Sibby was also kind enough to give me a wedding gift with some of the seasonings and other goodies...her attention to detail was wonderful. We're all already planning our next trip back so we can try another class!Note: It can be a bit difficult to locate so be sure to give yourself plenty of time...and don't rely on GPS!!!!

Most relaxing three days I've had in a long time. We went during the week and had the place to ourselves for the most part. I felt no pressure to go or do, and was just able to sit and enjoy the quiet beauty of the surroundings, watch the hummingbirds come and go and enjoy the moment. The zero-edge pool overlooking the hill country is beautiful. I could have (well, may as well say 'did') sit in the shade and read almost an entire day there. Did I mention that it is normally very hard for me to sit still? Really enjoyed the outdoor kitchen too. We picked up several prepared but uncooked things from Whole Foods on the way. it was very easy to prepare a meal on the gas grill that way, and all the utensils, tools, plates, cups etc. were already there to use. Don't worry about breakfast; the stay includes a daily delivery of a delicious breakfast pastry (different each day) that should be adequate for most, and if not, they also provide a bag of their homemade granola along with milk, juice and coffee. I recommend taking whatever you want to drink and snacky stuff and something to throw on the grill for dinner unless you just want to drive for a while to find a restaurant. We took breakfast stuff and ended up taking it all home with us. I look forward to staying here again! Thank you for a wonderful time.

This was my 3rd visit to Onion Creek Kitchen at Juniper Hills Farm. It is such a wonderful experience! The property is an oasis in the Hill Country- scenic views, beautiful surroundings and the best hostess. Sibby is charming and hospitable. I always learn wonderful new recipes and cooking suggestions in her classes. We started our afternoon with cocktails and delicious appetizers by the infinity pool with a fireplace. From there, we moved to the "kitchen" for our hands on cooking class with great assistants and Sibby to guide us thru the preparation of the recipes. This was a private cooking class for a group of women, great girls trip. We divided into groups for each item we were preparing. The culmination was the delicious dinner we enjoyed of all we prepared in our cooking class. We spent the evening in her nearby casitas that are comfortably and tastefully furnished with accommodations for your every need. The next morning fresh baked scones were delivered to our room to enjoy with our coffee, juice, fruit and granola provided. Every time I visit, I regret leaving!

My husband and I planned his 40th birthday/Valentine's Day celebration at our favorite hill country getaway and had yet another wonderful time. Juniper Hills Farm has the most beautiful and serene setting and Sibby makes your stay amazing with all of the special touches. Our little dog especially loves visiting Juniper Hills Farm as she loved arriving to find a little vintage lunchbox, filled with doggie treats. Sibby went above and beyond this year as she had delicious morning treats that were gluten free and even surprised us with a gorgeous petite birthday cake for my husband. The miniature donkeys are especially adorable. We are already planning our next visit.

A friend and I attended the Christmas dinner preparations this year. What a feast it was. I prepared a couple of the recipes on my own since then. The people you meet are very special. They must be to share making a meal with you!Although I did not stay on the grounds, we did tour the area and cabins. We will certainly return and stay on the property next time.

I've stayed here at least 5 or 6 times and i am never disappointed. I come here to get away from the noise, to reconnect with nature, and for a little pampering. Sibby has perfected the place with all of her special touches in the cabins and around the gorgeous property. When the hill country calls on me, this is the first place I look. Thank you, Sibby, for sharing this piece of heaven with the rest of us!

Our son was getting married at Creekside in Driftwood. We visited with Sibby several months before and found her place perfect for a rehearsal dinner. It would also be a perfect place for a working company retreat - wish I lived in Austin. There is a winding road through beautiful tree covered hills, past the friendly burros, to the thoughtfully designed kitchen and meeting space. I was captivated immediately by the eclectic decor, salvaged stained glass doors beckoned one into the event room. A chandelier made from antique silver spoons hung above. Three long natural oak tables were made from the wood saved from the time the road was built. Sibby was extremely easy to work with and so very flexible, she answered multiple questions always promptly. She sent us pages of sample menus and yet was thoughtful enough to incorporate any of our suggestions. She attended to every detail and many that I didn't even think of. For instance, I was able to drop off the wine before time and she had it perfectly chilled. Sibby also arranged to buy flowers and do table arrangements for our event. What a time saver for a busy out of town mother of the groom! The food was fabulous, worthy of any 5 star restaurant. We had Coq au Vin, buttermilk mashed potatoes, baby spinach salad with oranges, warm citrus dressing, and cranberry pecan crusted goat cheese, homemade petite rolls, and strawberry shortcake. I brought along coloring books for the kids and Sibby was fine with the varied ages attending our event, even made a macaroni dish to suit the tastes of the younger set. I did check out many choices for our rehearsal dinner and some of the prices suggested for a dinner for 40 people were way out of my price range. This venue was actually much nicer than I could have ever imaged, a private venue with stellar food and personalized attention, yet very, very reasonable in price. We also had the opportunity to enjoy the time and were able to socialize before and after the meal. We never felt rushed as we would have at a normal restaurant. We plan on going back and attending some of the classes or dinners that Sibby offers at Onion Creek Kitchens - a list of those are available on the website. We also want to stay in one of the 5 bed and breakfast rooms sometime for a relaxing getaway. That infinity edge pool, bocce ball, and massage are calling my name.

We're three friends who have gotten together for a week-end in November for the last 27 years. We loved our retreat to Juniper Hills. We stayed in the cabins on-site and took part in the Saturday evening cooking class/dinner. It was great fun. We learned to make yummy food and got to eat it. We especially enjoyed star gazing on the deck of our cabins. You must sign up far in advance to get into the cooking classes, but it is worth it.

We stayed in the cabins one evening with our extended family. This is a very comfortable, rustic setting. It was a great set up for our kids who loved being outdoors. My favorite aspect was the sauna located just inside the doorway of our cabin--very nice...also the limestone work in the bathroom is amazing.

For the past two springs, my adult daughter & I have attended a Saturday afternoon cooking class at Juniper Hills Farm, http://www.juniperhillsfarm.com, in the Texas Hill Country located between Blanco & Dripping Springs, TX. Sibby Barrett oversees the kitchen, providing recipes/ingredients as participants team-up to cook and prepare a "themed" meal complete with dessert (in 2010 it was a French Apple Tart which I have probably made 10 times since then)! One can register to be either a participant or a spectator in the new, large "Kitchen in the Grove" which is out-fitted with high-end appliances and kitchen equipment. The learning environmental is experiential with the loyal staff whisking away dirty dishes as we cooked to keep everything as pristine as possible. At the end of about 1 1/2 hours, we all sat down to our delicious meal.Sibby updates her web-site often with new classes as well as information on cabin rentals located on site. Once registered for a class, Sibby sends out directions and the code to the gated farm/ranch property. If you are looking for a fun, high energy learning experience and are in the Texas Hill Country, you can't beat Onion Creek Kitchens! My daughter and I plan to make it our annual spring get-away!
