My meal was so greasy. we stopped in for Sunday Brunch. Had the grilled skillet. the sausage was over cooked and the eggs and hashbrowns were drowned in oil! Could not eat! Should have gone to Cracker Barrel for a better meal!
We have been passing by this place for the past two years and finally decided to stop in. Wow!! It is beautiful inside! We did the wine tasting and every wine was great. My favorite, the Grande Rosso. We liked the place so much, we came back the next day for the special three course meal. I had the Filet, and my wife had the pecan crusted tilapia, both were great!! Definitely stop by and try their wines and dine, you won't be disappointed!!
This is a great place for a date, right in Greenville. The salmon was very good, with a nice leafy salad. Recommended!
We did not stay for lunch, just bought wine this trip. The location is a bit tricky to get to because of the one-way streets in Greenville, but the wines make it worth your efforts to get there. If you like white wines, I recommend their un-oaked Chardonnay; it's light with a nice finish. The Pino Grigio is the best. Lovely, light, and leggy, I wish I'd bought more bottles. My only complaint is the wait staff. Super snooty - you would have thought we were in Paris. And - when I mentioned that I'd gone to the winery in Lindale, TX they bad-mouthed their wines after I had said how much I liked them. I pointed out that my poor taste in wine must be what brought me to their tasting room.
Very nice atmosphere. A nice little wine list and a great new menu. We tried the Chicken Alfredo and the Ribeye (rare of course). The restaurant has a new chef and it's great. We stop in a couple time a month.
We have seen this compamy at Specs in Dallas, and at their resturant in Greenville, its pretty good. We do like the wines they have, some of the reds are a little too strong and dry for me, but I dont like red wines, but the whites are very good.
Took the wine tasting today and it was awesome. The tour was very informative and Bob did an excellent job of explaining everything and keeping us very entertained. We had an appetizer, sampled many different types of wine and had a great dinner. The pizza was amazing and so were the pasta dishes. Great way to spend an afternoon with family and friends. Wait staff was very friendly and dinner service was great too. Would highly recommend taking the drive from Dallas to Greenville. It's worth the trip just to see this historical building and of course picking up a few bottles of wine is just icing on the cake!
We had a gift certificate for $50.00 from the former owner. We went to them to inquire if they would honor any part of the certificate. We were told by the manager that it would not be honored. We left and went to another Italian Restraunt and will not enter their doors again. The giver of the certificate will not enter their doors and many friends and family have taken them off their bucket lists.
I've eaten at Landon's many times, and every time it has been delicious. The ambiance is very relaxing. With the original wood floors of this historical building and wall of wine, makes for a great experience in dining.
We returned to try the restaurant after the closing of City Bistro and reopening under Landon's. Fortunately we can say it is still very good. Although we went for lunch the menu was varied, the meal well presented and very flavorful. The service was attentive and prompt. We are looking forward to a dinner in the near future.
After a day in the HOT sun, racing cars at Speedzone in Dallas, our next stop was Landon's Winery in Greenville. Its on our way home to Winnsboro and we thought the whole team could benefit educationally, by visiting another Winery. We were blown away. First by the precious smile of the young adult welcoming us and then we proceed to a table big enough for our Team of 9.Our server was a delight and his recommendations made so much sense after we tasted the result. Thank you, Trenton. You are very knowledgeable and super smart. We had Pinot Noir and Yellow Rose wines and both were above comparison. Loved it.Some of the food was just awesome while others needs to get dismissed from the wonderful menu. We recommend the Raspberry wine Italian Dressing... what a delight. The highlight of our Liefie Team's outing was when Owner/Winemaker, Bob Landon, PERSONALLY took us on a tour of the Barrel Room...To taste wine straight from the barrel and be able to witness the Owner make his own "straight from the beaker" Port, was the most exhilarating experience for our Winery Team!!!It was a very educational Tour and we send our thanks to the lively Owner, Mr. Bob Landon. We cannot wait for our first crates of Landon Wines to arrive and will be so proud to serve Landon Wines here in Winnsboro, TX.Greenville are so fortunate to be home of this classy Winery!
My mother had never been to a winery or had the pleasure of participating in a wine tasting, so I brought here here for an early Mother's Day trip. The food was GREAT! My mom got the New York strip and she said that it was the best steak she ever had! You can only do tastings at the bar. 5 different wines for 5 dollars. A great value! The bartender was very knowledgeable and made excellent recommendations. We ended up buying 3 bottles because we couldn't decide which one we wanted! Highly recommended!
We are members of Landon's wine club in McKinney and this was our first trip to their facility in Greenville. I was very impressed with what Bob has done with it. I wish he would do the same with the winery in McKinney. The wine is same great quality that I expect from him of course. After all they serve the same wines. But the décor is an order of magnitude better than McKinney and the servers know their business. They were polite, friendly, and knowable. The food was very good, not great, but very good. We had one problem with the food, that was corrected quickly, with no fuss and a smile and an apology.BTW members of the wine club get a 20% discount on food and wine.
Just google and u will find , if you are on 30 go to Dallas or heading Arkansas way , a nice place to stop , just to taste the wines or relax and enjoy a bottle you will really enjoy and remember when the town you lived in was only a square . Mr. Landon was very friendly and courteous and explained what to do since I was new :)) . Overall I loved 3 out of 5 of their sweets and totally enjoy visiting with the server and just looking inside the building , you can't go wrong !
Plenty of room in this place. Food is good and service is great. Nice patio with entertainment on some nights.
