My family was in town to visit my brother and his family and found this place through Trip Advisor. We had never heard of whirly ball before but the description sounded like fun. We had ages ranging from 11 to 45 and all had a blast! You have to make reservations for a time on the court - so call in advance. We played for an hour and it flew by fast. Every one left smiling and talking about all different kinds of things that happened during the games. I haven't ever done anything like this before and it was a pleasant surprise. It actually ended up close to being the same cost as going to a movie with all of us - but this is memory that we all will be fond of and remember :)
At least it's not another trampoline park that seem to be "jumping up" everywhere. WhirlyBall is fun for all ages! Even the grumpiest in the group will end up laughing whether they're playing or just watching. Definitely a must-do for your bucket list.
I went with a group ranging from age 21 to age 56 to celebrate one person's 50th birthday. It was great fun for all ages. I love a game where speed and agility are not requirements. The best asset to have is a sense of humor and a willingness to get bumped around a bit.
You have to go to their web site to understand. Two teams in bumper cars on basketball court playing with whiffle balls trying to throw it through a hole in the backboard.Great fun, age, sex, athleticism does not matter. Anyone can play. Really enjoyed the employees too.
So much fun! Clean and monitored by staff for safety. The snack bar had a good selection too. Staff was friendly and fun. For kids and adults alike.
Thank you for coming out to WhirlyBall/LaserWhirld of HEB! We are glad you had a wonderful time here and appreciate your review! Be sure to come see us again!
Whirly Ball is a fun place that is good for kids and adults...yes, I know that cliche to say but in this case it is appropriate. I don't know exactly how to describe Whirly Ball. Their website describes it as "A mechanized team sport that is a combination of basketball, hockey and jai-alai played while riding an electrically powered bumper car." I am not sure about the hockey. I would say that is is kind of like playing lacrosse while driving around in bumper cars.Regardless, it is a fun and very unique place. I have been there with kids for kids birthday parties and I have been there later at night with adults tp play and both are fun. Different but fun.I recommend it. You need I think 10 people to play (5 on 5) but it is best to rent a court for an hour or two and half 15 to 20 people or more and rotate through who plays or at least that is how we have done it.
