We'd seen this on another tripadvisor review and had to check it out. The prices are amazing and we were trying to figure out how many baskets and for 'what', we could buy. They'd make a great gift 'bag' instead of the paper bags we all use. How cute to get a babyshower gift of items piled into a cute basket $1.95-$4 or giving your Christmas cookies in a red and green basket instead of a tin $2-$4... and expect 'cookies' returned in your basket to be given again? They have apple crates for $6, we'd heard Ohio is selling old apple crates for $50.00... $6 is a bargain how cute to put your patio plants in or on apple crates... Your imagination will go wild and your purse will love you for the great prices here. We'll be back then next time we visit East Texas.
We had no idea Texas even had its own basket company. This place exploded during the first World War as it was the only company of its kind in the southern U.S. They make produce baskets. Their factory is in Jacksonville and they have a shop at one end of the plant. We watched one man as he made a basket then we were able to shop throughout their retail store for gifts. We really enjoyed our time there. They have all kinds of baskets and even displays that you can purchase. If you can think of it as a container, they probably make it. Their prices were dirt cheap. If you go there, don't miss Jacksonville's scenic outlook. You can see for app 37 miles. It's a great place for a picnic. We also fell in love with their little lake. Just a nice little town.
