We were in town for spring break and chose to visit due to rain. Family of five with three boys. Staff was very nice and the exhibits were interesting and engaging. For the most part I would say the exhibits were geared toward middle elementary and up. My three year old found a few things to do but was easily bored. Toddler area for under three. I would recommend if you have toddlers and or older children, 8 and up. Of course the parents were there to help kids but it's hard if you have more than one child. Nice small cafe on site too with soups, sandwiches, desserts.

We travel thru Johnson City often and were so very pleased to learn of this new museum. It was the brainchild of a husband and wife science team who brought this to life in their retirement years. This is geared at making the world of science hands on and exciting for children. This seems geared for the 2nd-6th grade set ideally but there were many younger children getting help and explanations from family and older children still taking part in the interactive exhibits. I took my 5th grader and he absolutely loved it, as did I. The Avatar Passport was a big hit with the guests as you move from exhibit to exhibit and the docents were very helpful. There is also a 30minute 3D movie that runs throughout the day & is included in the price of admission. Wonderful show on sharks. We heard mention of Sat. classes & summer camps that we will be looking into. There is a small cafe (we ate beforehand) that is conveniently located. Go on a pretty day and take advantage of the outdoor exhibits. A Tug of War Machine…so much fun, and a gigantic marble run. This is nestled in the Hill Country so no crazy traffic, parking is free and there are small antique shops all within walking distance. I am grateful to the contributors of this museum, well done.
