This used to be a State Park, however, the city took over. When we got to the park there was a gate closed. Luckily, another driver told us we needed to go to the Office across the highway to sign in. We went over there and the staff was very helpful. We went back across the highway to find out site. I went out bike riding on the trails. Enjoyed the time. The bathroom have pretty good showers. I base a lot of my nights at parks on their showers. This rates a three on a five scale. We slept very soundly. Strange thing is: I didn't see a singe animal all afternoon or in the morning and I get up early.

architect and structure of the house was old, but still maintained. It had furniture dated back to that era. It had a pull string toilet flush, unique.

We were here for 4 days, 3 nights. Love this park and the wildlife. Very quiet area on the edge of town.

We live in Kerrville and this is the closest place for an off-the-pavement hike. There are several trails, well marked, and you can wander through the cedar trees. If you're an avid hiker you might find this pretty tame but it's a little local get-away for those of us who live near. Part of the park is across the highway and on the banks of the Guadalupe River. The main trails are on the "dry" side of the park. Provision is made for camping, RV's and the town of Kerrville is within a few miles.

My husband and I wanted a quick weekend getaway and opted to try the Kerrville-Schreiner Park. We reserved a riverside mini-cabin for $56/night. The location of the cabin was perfect - we had a beautiful view of the river. A stairway led down to the river where we fished one afternoon. The cabin has 2 sets of bunk beds, an a/c and heating unit and a table with chairs. We took our air mattress and it fit nicely on the floor of the cabin. There was no restroom or running water inside the cabin, but the restrooms/showers located throughout the park were very clean and well kept. There was a water faucet located right outside of the cabin. There are plenty of trails to walk - and they are kept up very nicely with wide, cleared out paths. There were few people in the park due to it being the off season, but everybody we talked to was very friendly. Next time we go, we will book a mini-cabin in the high mountain area - we walked in this area of the park and saw a lot of deer and most of the walking trails are on this side of the park. I highly recommend visiting this park if you are looking for a relaxing, scenic getaway!

an old house with a history. Look at things at your leisure and read the info. Right in the middle of a walking area - you can shop or eat nearby.

Very quiet and laid back. In one of the nicest areas in Texas. Lot's of deer to see and clear skies!

This is a very nice well kept city park on the Guadalupe. It's perfect for an afternoon stroll, a place to walk your dog or a great place to take a lawn chair and cooler and just chill out.

The best part of the park was the butterfly garden. There are 3 different hiking trails. We waited on someone for 30 minutes to come let us rent a kayak. We called him and he said he would get someone there. No one ever showed. The only reason we went is because my daughter wanted to kayak. She was very disappointed

My 7 and 9 year old children really enjoyed this park. We had a blast kayaking, tubing and swimming in the river.

We didn't camp in the cabins, just came for a day of swimming in cool, clear water and relaxing under big trees. It was great to park, walk less than 50 feet to a spot at the water's edge and set up our HQ. No charcoal grills allowed but propane is OK. Lots of families. Easy kayak/canoe access, and if you forget supplies there's an HEB a few blocks outside the park.

This park was clean even as bandera's medina river was loaded with E. coli virus due to low levels of water . Schreiner was tested and came out clean. Warm water and easy access into water. I highly recommend it.

The park is small and is basically a swimming location for some folks. The park itself has a nice atmosphere with the wooden walk bridge. There are ducks and they will come right up to you looking for food... Kinda noisy... lol.. The river is nice and the scenery is pretty...

I was headed up to Kerrville Folk life Festival this weekend and before I went my friend and I stopped off at Flat Rock to jump in the water. The park is nice and easier to get into the water from the side where you pay to get in. The price per person is about $4 each. That's not bad but we were trying to save money for the festival so there is another side you have to drive around to that is free. So that's where we went. It was nice. You can drive your car to a spot and park wherever you want to set up for pick nick or for the day. The only thing was you can't walk out into the water easily. It's kinda marshy so i jumped accross the weeds to get in. You just have to look at the area where you plan to make your spot. Enough tree's there for shade too if you don't want to be in the sun. Great for family or just with friends.
