marfa and presidio county museum

i visited a few times here and am a social scientist, doing odd jobs cleaning in town. i hope/plan to help do more to promote the rich history of this lil town. Sugest i or profesional do walking tour with locals and get there story of things scene.

Don't go, but if you do plan way ahead and be prepared for all you hear is, "NO". All museums, galleries, and restaurants (which are counted on less than one hand) require a reservation. When you don't have one they shoo you away and turn away. They are not part of the Texas charm and hospitality but part of left over NY who couldn't make it there. On the chance you do get in you are timed and given 15 minutes to look at any thing then asked to leave. Donald Judd's work is great but his purpose of Marfa was to get away from society, my suggestion he was successful so leave Marfa out of your trip plans.
