This is a wonderful place for a walk, the sidewalks are nice and wide. You will see all kinds of wildlife as you walk over the bridges and through the beautiful old pecan trees that reach up to the sky. Listen to the river as you walk, oh how peaceful this place is. Don't miss this if you are in the area, also check out the Mill Pond Park across the highway, it has a museum, waterfalls, swimming pool, a sandy beach, picnic tables and much more.
Nearly 2 miles of wide sidewalk through the beautiful Pecan bottoms along the San Saba river and Mill Creek. Rest at the bird watching house or read the interpretive signs throughout the park. This is just one of 3 beautiful parks that are connected to each other. Don't miss Mill Pond Park and Reisen Park. There is lots to do and see in San Saba's park system.
A wide sidewalk and beautiful pedestrian bridges wind through acres and acres of huge trees and along picturesque streams and old waterworks. Signs point out historic areas including sites used by native Americans for centuries. Always seems to be cool....even in the hottest weather. This isn't an "action" park.....not a place to take the kids for swimming or rides (although San Saba's Mill Pond park across the street offers a wide range of recreational possibilities). Really just a place to enjoy the beauty and unwind for the afternoon. Great place for walking and jogging.
Very nicely laid out walking paths through some beautiful scenery on the river! Good break for kids and adults and good way to explore nature in the city. Highly recommended!
Wonderful park with sidewalks along the river and nature all around! The signs provided interesting information about indians and other stories. We took several hours walking through the park and got a little exersize at the same time. Very clean and kept well by the City employees. Must see this place if you are anywhere close to the area and we stayed at a wonderful little place on the courthouse square less than half a mile away.
Great paved, handicapped accessible paved trails through large pecans trees along spring-fed Mill Creek down to the San Saba River. Would have rated higher if the fishing area would have been larger and more open and accessible.
