Nice get away close to home. This family friendly water park is not very large, but it's a comfortable setting to take your children and let them play without too much worry. Got there early for a nice shady spot. For $10 you can bring in a cooler with your own snacks. Snack bar was standard fare, the pretzels and pizza were good. They offer an all the soda you can drink wrist band for a reasonable price and another nice touch was complimentary water in a Styrofoam cup with ice and lid. May get boring for older children, but overall it's a nice day out.
It was a hot and muggy day when we visited family in Frisco, TX. They knew just what to do to help us get acclimated! A visit to Hawaiian Falls, in The Colony! I loved that there was a separate kids area, and the lazy river was definitely my personal favorite! The kids adored the wave pool, and the hubs had a blast on the slides. Since we had never been here before, we didn't know we could bring a cooler in, but we will definitely remember that for next time! So much fun! We loved it! Oh! And don't forget to re-apply sunblock every few hours!
This is a great place for teenagers to escape the summer heat. Lots of water slides, a decent wave pool. The young kid area is a pirate ship which is constantly covered in water. For the adults, there's a decent lazy river. The food is better than most water parks, and unlike Six Flags, they let you bring your cooler inside the park. Prices are reasonable on food. It does not have as many high risk rides like Hurricane Harbor, and it is much closer to North Dallas, Plano, Frisco. An excellent choice for youth groups and school clubs, but be advised, it will shut down after Labor Day.
While not as large as Hurricane Harbor, it's the same concept minus the cost of parking. For a small fee you can even purchase a ticket to bring in a cooler so you can bring your own food. They've added seating and shade areas for the 2014 season.Great for all ages and you can do everything from floating around leisurely to shooting down a tube or slide. It gets busy on the weekend but there's always plenty of parking with a shuttle service in case you get stuck in the back of the parking lot. Hawaiian Falls is great about sending out discounts in their email newsletter and on Facebook. Not sure why Trip Advisor has it listed as Hawaiian Falls Adventure Park, it's actually called Hawaiian Falls Waterpark.
We visited this park with family on the Sunday before Labor day 2013. The water seemed filthy and greasy. Half of the rides were closed due to maintenance and not enough employees to station them. The rest of the rides had lines that took an hour or more to get through. The ones with inflatables had two lines, one to get the inflateable and another for the ride.It looked to me as if they had admitted way more people to the park than they should have. We arrived right after opening at 10:30 and were able to get a small table with shade. Through the next few hours we kept having to evict people that came up and put their stuff on our table and just sat down. Many many foreigners here that were never taught how to be "Texas polite".If the park is not going to be opened at full capacity they should limit the number of visitors or shut it down completely.Splash Kingdom in Canton, TX is a much better choice for fun at a water park.
Small water park conveniently located, but lacks a lot of what it should have. Lazy river...no tubes, twisty tube water ride...no tubes. It is full of lifeguards who like to blow their whistles, so I am assuming th kiddos are pretty safe. If you don't arrive at the opening bell, finding decent seats can be difficult. My kids love it and it keeps them busy on a lazy summer day and since it is fairly small, one can feel pretty safe about letting them roam the park by themselvs without trouble. You can usually find some kinds of online discount or "take a Coke can" discount during the season which makes it much more reasonably priced.
This park is about the same price as Hurricane Harbor and has fewer rides. However, you spend less time waiting in line and it's much cleaner and easier to keep track of your children. If you have kids who are teens or older, they MIGHT get bored but they even had some high octane thrill rides here like the 360 where the floor drops out from under you. They have maybe 10-15 major slides and a handful of smaller ones...a wave pool and nice lazy river. I was really impressed by the staff here. The ladies up front helped me find a credit card that I had dropped on the ground. The people at the food stand were very pleasant and chatted with my kids while we waited for our pizza. They seemed like they enjoyed being there. At one point I was watching my 2 boys play in the area designed for younger kids. I saw a little boy 3-4 years old who was yelling and looked angry. A few other kids were looking at him and I couldn't tell what was happening. I then realized he was yelling for his mom and was upset. I walked over to him but before I reached him, a staff member who was about 20 or so reached him and kneeled down in the water to talk with the little boy. He then led him by his hand to the area of the park for lost children. This staff member was not ever working in this area...he and another boy were emptying the trash cans. The lifeguard in the area had not spotted this boy yet as she was on the other area of the structure. I was very impressed by the young people who worked at this park. It is a testament to their work ethic and the ethics instilled by the management there. Keep up the good work! I'd give this park 4.5 stars if I could....
This waterpark has a good variety of rides with and without tubes. Many of the rides, the floor drops out below your feet....very fun!!!! Good set up and attractions for young kids that can't swim. No long lines for any of the rides.
The water park is great! The park is smaller than the big, more commercial water parks. But it also makes getting around and finding your children easier. The place is clean. Beware of the food options. What they sell there is gross. I can't even describe the color of the hotdogs. They also were running-out of several ice cream options by 4 PM. No fruit or remotely healthy options either. The lines and how they run the food service was awful. Where was management?! 3 teenagers can't run food service for a WHOLE water park! We were there with a group of 150+, and it was just chaos trying to get food to only 20 people (it shouldn't take 25 minutes to order and get nachos and a drink). You can bring your own cooler for $10. But if they charge for that, then they should have better food options inside. I know that isn't their primary business, but seriously, don't charge $10 if you can't remotely get food service up to par/average. If you don't care about food issues, it is a nice family-oriented water park. We will go back. We'll just make sure to have eaten a big meal first:)
We had a great time at this park. Very well laid out park. I love the walk river that goes around the wave pool; cool on your feet instead of hot pavement. You can bring in coolers for $10 or you can leave in the car and picnic in the parking lot FREE. It's just a sandwich right. We rode all the slides and they are so much fun. And I mean all of them even the ones at the treehouse for the little kids. Staff were so friendly. Tom Thumb sells discount tickets $19.99.Great deal and great fun!
Thinking of cooling off at Hurricane Harbor? Do yourself a favor and go to Hawaiian Falls instead! Cheaper, cleaner, friendlier, less crowded....I could go on!The food is so, so much better. You can also take your own cooler for a small fee.Maybe not quite so many attractions, but who cares? My family will definitely be making this our water park of choice!
We arrived at almost right when it opened and it was crowed in the parking lot; but the parking lot was never completely full. We obtained our tickets quickly and entered the park. It was super clean!!! The bathroom had the grip floor so you do not slip. This was a very fun day with me and my best friend. This Hawaiian Falls is so much better than the one in Garland. This park also had more slides than Garland. Garland doesn't have squat. If you had to pick one Hawaiian Falls to go here, CHOOSE THIS ONE!
Took the kiddos to the Water Park. It was a great day get-a-way. The kids had a lot of fun. The bathrooms did need to be serviced and some work but overall a great experience. Everything including the food was reasonably priced. Look around the internet for specials. They offered a splash back pass. If you show your receipt, you can come back before the 2012 Season is up for $5 a person. We'll be back.
