Loved Snowy! Have been there before several times. Love the laid-back feeling. Can pack your lunch and save bucks!

We love skiing at Snowy Range! Been season pass holders the last 2 years and its just a great place for family, fun and lots and lots of ski time. Friendliest staff ever! We are always dragging friends along. Dan & Esther

Ok, so the runs are shorter than I'm used to and the lifts are not super fast. BUT what I realized is that I wasn't dodging other skiers or boarders. I was much more relaxed and had a better time! As long as the snow is good, you will have a great time. My brother, sister and I (all adult intrm.skiers) had a blast skiing and couldn't get over how much money we had saved. As far as food goes, we missed the fantastic restaurants that you can ski into at Breck. BUT the one and only restaurant at Snowy Range had good food at a great price. Again, we were very happy with the money we were all saving. We also noticed how friendly and helpful ALL the staff is too. I kind of hate leaving this review because I don't want the secret out! Please continue to drive out to Grand County on I-70 and leave this place to Northern CO. and WY residence :0)

Great skiing. Never more than 4 skiers in front of me at a lift, on the weekend the owner told us was the busiest of the season (President's day... apparently MLK is #2 if you are wondering). Lifts are smooth, trails are fabulous and the staff is incredibly friendly.

I've never been skiing before, snowy range is the perfect place for beginners, the staff were courteous and informative. Good selection of equipment. Excellent.

I would definitely recommend ski lessons from Jack. Surpassed our expectations and our learning curve on this new sport

This is a great place to learn to ski or snowboard. From Fort Collins, CO to Snowy Range Ski Area is 100 miles, and takes less than two hours to get there. There is almost NO traffic to get there! (Contrast that with the torment of driving on I-70 during ski season!) The ski area is not crowded, almost no waits for the chair lifts. My grandsons from New Zealand wanted to learn to ski and snowboard during a recent visit. I took them to Snowy Range rather than a ski area in Colorado, and it was a great experience. The cost of renting equipment at Snowy Range was about the same or less than renting locally in Fort Collins. Plus, you can probably find a discount coupon for lift tickets at Valpak.com.

My fiance and I came here on a day the mountain got about 3 inches of fresh snow. It was so much fun. It was a bit windy but not bad at all, the ski lifts (all four of them) are in the trees so there is a nice wind block while you are sitting. Employees were helpful and kind which made it nice. We are used to skiing crowded ski areas so it was so nice to only see about 5 other people out on the slopes. It is very affordable to ski and play here!

Uncrowded and wonderful skiing conditions! Beautiful scenery in a tranquil setting. The food in the cafeteria is also quite good and reasonably priced

Great skiing and really friendly staff. If someone built a cheaper hotel in the area they would have a lot of business! Spoke with a man from Germany there last weekend and he stated the skiing was better than skiing in the alps. Snowy Range has been a tremendous asset in out family time together.

Our group had a mixed bag of skiing experience! From 50-yr. old parents who skied for decades... To college-aged frequent snowboarders... To new-to-the-sport teens.. We opted for Snowy Range over the larger, more popular Colorado resorts to avoid the crowds and cost. Great choice! Snowy Range offered something for every skill level. Zero wait time at the lifts. My daughter took a 2-hr lesson and felt very comfortable on the intermediate slopes. The group lesson only had 3 people in it! The snack bar/grill had verrrry reasonable prices, and the pro shop even had a sale on t-shirts for $9. Plus, we got the 4-pack of lift tickets for $99 at a fall ski show which made it even better. Love a bargain, especially when everyone ends up happy.

Just got back from Snowy Range with the family. And it was great!! Normally we up to vail several times a year to ski but I waited too long and wasn't able to book a room at the Marriott, so my husband and I thought we would try Snowy Range. We had been to Snowy Range WAAAAY back when we were going to CSU back in college and haven't been since. I have to admit, it's SOOOO much cheaper than anywhere in CO!!! Lift ticket here is $45, it's like $130 in Vail. Yes of course, Snowy Range is not anything like Vail, but for our family of four (4 and 7yr old girls), it works quiet well. The drive isn't bad from N. Denver, not to mention you can book a room last min for fraction of cost ($100 a night vs. $400 in Vail). It's also not as crowded as Vail. We've been to Vail just about every year during winter break and it's a mad house. Snowy Range did seem busier than usual but it wasn't nearly as crowded as Vail or Breck. They also opened all the lifts so the lines were bad either. We stayed in Laramie and I didn't know this until I got there but a lot of hotels in Laramie have packages that includes lift ticket. I found out that just for $10 more per night we could have gotten lift tickets (definitely going to do that for next trip). Snowy Range is about 30mins away from Laramie. We went for 3 days but if you're driving up there from CO, I would recommend half day pass, you can buy it starting 12:15pm and it worked well when we drove up the first day. (It's quiet cheaper than full day pass). The rentals are also very cheap too. Again, if you're used to going to places like Vail or Breck, this place might be a little culture shock, it's not fancy by any means. And if you are an expert skier than you prob don't want to come here. But if you have kids and needs places to do descent runs as a family with your kids, without spending a leg and an arm, I would highly recommend Snowy Range! Snow was also good too, way better than Eldora. We will be definitely coming back!!! PS- I also want to give shout out to "Joe". He was so friendly and my daughter loved him!! Staff is great! But I forgot to mention if you're kid is 4 yrs old they don't have group lessons, only private lessons for kids that young.

This is the 4th straight year we have gotten ski passes to Snowy Range. From northern Colorado, there is no better place to go for the family. Immensely cheaper than the Colorado resorts, Snowy Range offers good skiing without the crowds and jerks that you find along the Front Range. Family-owned, great ski shop, food, and bar--customer service makes this place a plus. Definitely recommend somebody in the area to try it out.

Snowy range is a nice mountain to learn to ski/board on. There are enough green (easy) runs that are not super steep that kids or beginner riders are not over whelmed. The chair lifts are a little slow. Lift lines are minimal if any wait at all. It is a mountain that you go up ski down go up ski down. Prices are very reasonable. They have a rental shop at the base of the mountain. All you need to do Is to show up with winter clothes. You are more than welcome to bring your own food but the food is reasonably priced. Being only 40 mins from Laramie makes it an easy drive from northern colorado. Snowy range is not a big mountain or something like ski county in Colorado. Do not go thinking it is a resort like breck or keystone. It is a nice little mountain that you can get quick runs in. It does have some black trails but nothing very hard.

This is a small ski area that is a great place to learn to ski. Lift tickets are reasonably priced and the ski school staff is great. It can be windy here so dress warm1
