When I first saw this on Tripadvisor I thought it looked a lot of fun, but it completely exceeded our expectations. My husband and I visited from the UK and loved the idea of learning some of the rodeo techniques.I had ridden a little as a child, and my husband is a novice, but I couldn't believe how quickly we both progressed under the fantastic instruction of the guys here. It was SO much fun. We were lucky enough to get the experience to ourselves as we came at a quiet time, so my husband and I were soon racing each other's times at the barrel racing! And the roping was awesome - I never thought I'd be able to pick up the technique so quickly; a testiment to the awesome tuition here. The whole experience was fantastic, we really didn't want it to end. And the general information we were told about rodeo and the way these guys train, and care for their animals, also really resonated when visitng professional rodeos later in our trip.My muscles were glad of the hot tub in the hotel later, but I only wish we'd been in the area several more days so that we could have returned for more. Trust me, as soon as it is finished, you will want to do it again. If you're thinking about this, just do it, you won't regret it.We will definitely be back. Thank you so much to all involved :)

I had no idea what fun we were in for when we signed up for "Intro to Rodeo"! Our group ranged from first time to life-long riders, but all felt that the time we spent with Jamie and her crew was a delight. Between attempting to rope progressively more difficult "calves" to racing our highly trained horses around barrels, we never stopped laughing. At the end of our very busy week in Jackson Hole, in our group voted Intro to Rodeo as our favorite experience of the trip!

Our family had a wonderful time with our intro to rodeo experience. We had a mixed level of riders - youngest was 8 and oldest was late 40s. The kids had only ever done one trail ride ever, and were just fine. Their horses are so well-trained - you feel like a master equestrian. The staff gave extra help to the kids with their lassoing technique. It was really fun and if we could have spent another day with them we definitely would have. We visited the rodeo in Jackson later that evening and it gave us an even better appreciation for what those cowboys/gals can do. Super fun and highly recommend.

I'm sorry you thought we were unprofessional. We have always required a credit card at time of reservation. If you had made your reservation at the beginning of our season this last year (2014) we were changing over to new cc service and I may have asked for check. We do not send out a conformation however we are trying to put that into our program and work out the kinks on that. I am glad you had a good time with our program.

A MUST GO when you visit the area. Did a 4 hour trail ride the day before that was nice but the hours spent here will forever be my favorite. Barrel racing is a riot. Had never done it before but entirely trusted the staff...ended up running the barrel race course in 23 seconds....totally going back for more next time!!! Did it in July alone but there was a group of 2 moms and 3 little girls, youngest around 5, and watching the staff teach the kids whilst making it fun & keeping everyone safe was awesome. Amazing all around!

I have done horseback riding at many different places but this was my favorite by far. They are friendly and the experience is very genuine. Highly recommend it. My fiancé who rode horses for 10 years also loved this place. If you are looking to actually trot the horses and have an authentic experience then choose this place.

This was the most fun part of my trip to WY. The instructors are wonderful. The ranch and horses are fantastic. Learning to rope and ride and barrel race was so exciting and I would totally recommend this to anyone visiting the area. It's an authentic rodeo experience.

Coming from Chicago we had no idea what we were in for. We wanted something to remember and from all the reviews a trail ride, although beautiful, was not going to be that memorable. We decided to give this a shot and it was awesome! We had our kids do it (14,9,9). None of them had ever been on a horse before. We arrived a few minutes late so we missed the quick orientation. They got thrown on their horses and we were off. Once at the coral they were given a few pointers and before we knew it they were running around barrels. The highlight was the "intern" named Stevie- She is 11 years old and she means business. She whipped our kids into shape and was every bit as affective as the rest of the crew. Everyone was great. The whole experience lasted about 3 hours ...our kids wanted it to go all day.

I looked at the reviews on TripAdvisor and I knew that I wanted to do this attraction. After some convincing, I was finally able to get my mom to come with me. We are SO glad we went! This was everything we were expecting and more. The horses are incredibly well trained and the instructors are very patient with all experience levels. I wanted to do something unique and more exciting than a trail ride, and this was the perfect choice! A must do!!

Amazing time at Intro to Rodeo! We had a blast! My daughter and I were looking for "Horse Time" on our vacation but were bored with the nose to tail trail rides. Jamie and her crew were great. The horses were well trained! We learned barrel racing from slow walk-trot to lopping! They emphasize taking it at your own speed, they will help choose a horse that's just right for you and your level of experience. I rode "Elmo" and he was awesome- lots of energy and speed- just what I wanted! We also learned team roping and got to rope a mechanical steer; however, you get to corral a live steer with an instructor- very fun! It's pricey but worth every penny, we will do it again in a heartbeat!

My daughter had her heart set on trying barrel racing, so when we found out about the Introduction to Rodeo, we checked the reviews on TripAdvisor and decided to give it a try. We are glad we did! The horses are happy and well trained, and the staff have endless patience in training city folk. The 2 hour session included a lesson in basic Western horsemanship, barrel racing, using a lasso, and herding a steer. This activity is fun for kids and adults alike. My daughter and I were in a group that ranged in age from 9 to 74, and all had a great time!

Though it's not a cheap activity I would recommend this to everyone who wants to try barrel racing. They have excellent horses and by the end of the 2 hours, we really felt like being on a rodeo. Thanks to the great staff!

We read about this place on TripAdvisor and are so happy we did. The staff was professional and knowledgeable and the horses were very well-mannered and well-cared for. Definitely a well-run operation and an unforgettable experience for adults and children.

My family and I recently took a 2 week road trip to Yellowstone and Jackson, Wy. This experience was rated tops by every member of my family. We have 4 kids aged 12, 12, 10, & 9 and they were NOT all on board with the idea before it started. By the time it was over, no one wanted to leave, and all want to return. We've done trail rides in the past and this was far better than a trail ride!! I highly recommend Introduction to Rodeo to anyone visiting the area. We made great memories that will last a lifetime.
