My wife and I have lived in ABQ for more than 30 years and just discovered this spot. Glad we did. Can't speak to the fishing, but as a place for a picnic and leisurely strolls around these lovely lakes, the $3 per person price (for non-fishing entry) is a bargain. The view of the Sandias from this spot is unparalleled. The stately cottonwoods are gorgeous. The grounds are beautifully kept and the infrastructure is super modern, clean and appear to be wheelchair friendly - beautiful paved walkways circle all three of the lakes - probably a couple of miles total. Regarding the fishing, we did see people catching fish on a spectacularly beautiful Sunday afternoon in midwinter. They looked to be having fun. A couple of reviews complain that these lakes should be called "ponds." That's a quibble that's hardly worth answering; t5he fact is, by New Mexico standards, these are very nice sized multi-acre bodies of open water. The water is clean . . . appears to be continuously recirculated.Bottom line is that this is a really nice spot; I can't wait to take out of town visitors here.
The lakes are like ponds if the ponds are stocked they must not be very big fish not one single bite with bait or spinners. Tall cottonwood trees. For shade in the summer.
The lakes are more akin to "ponds" and though they were supposed to be stocked over two weeks ago according to the bait shop they were not. For the amount of money you are paying you are better off going elsewhere. Even the website has inconsistencies. They claim there is a catch and release "lake" but none of the three "lakes" were. After 7 hours using various bait (even some from their shop) and lures my boys didn't catch a thing...no trout, no catfish, nada. They were there as soon as they opened. If you don't stock the "lakes" as you state you do on radio advertisements, in the store and on your website, give folks their money back.
