We stop on our way to Taos and found ourselves to be the only people in the tasting room... Taylor was very knowledgeable and let us take our time with our wine. We are sat outside on the patio for a while to soak up the sun and the beautiful surrounding! Oh and don't forget to try the chocolates! :)

Vivác Winery has a wonderful tasting room on Route 68 in Dixon, NM, near the intersection with Hwy 75. I enjoy stopping by for a quiet glass (or two) their fine wines, while sitting on their patio enjoying the beautiful scenery. This also gives me a chance to pick up a few bottles of wine, as I joined their wine club several years ago. During clement weather, Vivác hosts enjoyable happy hours with live music on their patio from roughly 4-7 on Saturdays. I look forward to visiting their again this coming weekend during the Dixon Studio Tour (the first weekend in November).

We arrived close to closing time so were rushed to do a tasting for our party of eight. The wine was average. We spent more time sampling the chocolate, which was good but pricey.

After visiting the Earthship Biostructures in Tres Piedras, and on our way to Santa Fe on Hwy 68, we stopped to buy some handmade chocolates. But once there and having ordered our chocolates, I decided to have the tasting that they offer. I just have to say I wish I had more time. At this point my husband and child were waiting in the car and i was just "why not" I'm already here, a few more minutes were not too much to ask (specially after enduring a screaming son who refuses to sit on the car seat). Their Cabernet Sauvignon V. Series is really great, and their reds are very good (but then again I'm the red wine kinda girl). Their Amante, their port wine, which might be preferred by many due to its sweeter taste, it's good but I would recommend to have just a little bit accompanied by dessert, maybe dark chocolate covered strawberries (Mmmm now that sounds good).

My family and I stopped here on our way from Taos to Albuquerque. I had read the it was "new" and "sophisticated" and wanted to have a look. The vineyards themselves are idyllic, nestled amongst the desert mountains. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the wine. I was drawn in by the promise of dry reds and they did not disappoint! We did a six wine tasting for $6. It was delicious and fun, a great stop off the road if you have time.Our non wine drinkers (drivers, 11 year old) enjoyed the handcrafted (and beautiful!) chocolates and truffles. The woman who served us was also the chocolatier! The tasting room also had a small table of wine related goods and accessories, very fun to browse. I highly recommend this winery if you get a chance!

I have stopped at this winery a few times and I am always pleased. The have a delicious sweet white Luminosa Wine that I love. They also have very good hand made chocolates. The Chai Tea Truffles are the best I've ever had. This has become a common stop on the way north from Santa Fe. And the staff is always kind!

We did a northern winery tour and we thought this was the best overall. They had a great, yes I said great selection of good red wines. I felt like I was in a Sonoma County winery as everything about the winery was first class. Can't wait to visit them again. Especially liked their Syrah and know why it's won several awards.

The wine was quite nice. The location is at a major intersection of major roads, so it did get crowded. We were just getting used to the laid back feel of New Mexico, so having a crowd was a bit unusual. You may really enjoy the wine. It was very good, but there were a couple of other places we had been to that raised the bar.

The first time we stopped here it was by accident. We missed the first winery, then saw this one and stopped. What a delightful surprise! I love this winery. Wine is terrific, location is beautiful and the staff helpful. The next trip up the mountain, Vivac was on the itinerary as a "must stop". I prefer reds and they have such a wonderful variety its hard to have a favorite. I took a bottle of the cab sav to my friend who took care my pooch and he loved it. I would highly recommend this winery as a stop along the way or a destination. Take the time to have a glass on the patio and enjoy the mountain air!

I visited this winery 5 yrs ago and fell in love with their Fireside red! As time has gone by Sauvignon Blanc is another fave. I order by the case to get free shipping. Vivac wine club has several options. The staff is great when I call and shipments arrive in good shape and a timely manner. My husband and I revisited in August to enjoy time on the porch. The owners were away but left me a special gift. We are planning to attend wine stomp next fall. Vivac has grown but still remains a family business. Well worth a visit and remember to sign up for a wine club!!!

This place is perfect spot for hanging out by a picnic table in the grass, overlooking grapes and listening to good tunes. The wine is fantastic and the happy hour scene is lots of fun. Got a chance to meet the winemakers once...very cool! A couple of younger guys who are certainly passionate about what they do while remaining very down to earth and fun! Don't miss this place after a great day on the river!

walking through the farmers market and saw their shop, stopped for a wine tasting and the wines were very good, staff was very pleasant and explained the wines.

Great glass of sauvignon blanc, good music, and a spectacular view for sunset...what more could you ask for?

Not a huge fan of the wine (except the port - oh my it is to die for) but I love the interior of the tasting room and the location of the winery. It's fun to take my out of town guests here for a tasting.

I love this wine and actually have it shipped to me in another state. I wish I was closer to enjoy their Happy Hours too. I keep up with their posts and the owners are just delightful. If you are in the area it is a definite stop you should make!!!
