This is a small winery in the community of Corrales, NM. It has an abundance of beautiful rose bushes enhancing the lovely view of the Sandia mountains. We enjoyed stopping by during the balloon fest, sipping on free wines and listening to a local female trio's eclectic music. Worth a stop if in the area.
If was a great visit. The wines are tasty and the server was nice and knowledgable. The tasting room has large windows with a beautiful view of the mountains.
This winery, owned and run by the vigorous Keith Johnstone and his wife, Bobbie, is a gem in Corrales, New Mexico. Keith retired a few years ago from the tech business and applied his great love of knowledge to his wine making enterprise. His acumen is known throughout the State and probably region and his wines sell out rapidly, so anyone tasting a favorite would do well to buy it right away or risk not being able to get it until the following year. Summer and fall are a splendid time to visit the tasting room for as soon as you walk in you are treated to a fabulous view through the picture windows of the distant Sandia Mountains with the vineyard in the foreground. Additionally, Keith supports local artists by hanging or displaying their art in the tasting room so that as you sip the marvelous merlot or the complex cabernet you are treated to a sample of the talents of New Mexico artists. Bobbie has landscaped the grounds with dozens of rose bushes, another enhancement to this already beautiful family-run farm.
Nice vineyard. The only vineyard run on solar. Very informed and super friendly wine educator. Not a big tasting area but it works when you are getting great information and good wine. They don't charge for tastings. The Sangiovese was fantastic as was the Merlot.
The winery is in a lovely spot and tasting room manager Carol DiMaggio was gracious and informative. We bought the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon and thoroughly enjoyed the experience
