Wishful Thinking Everyone has a list of things they wish to have at one point in their life. These things include a certain car, a house in a specific location, or could even be an experience of some sort. Unfortunately many people never get the things on their wish list due to the high costs of luxury items and excursions. Instead people are left watching celebrities and other wealthy people live in our dream houses and drive our expensive cars. How much would you pay to get a small glimpse of the luxurious life? Today there are companies offering average people the ability to make their dreams realities for a short couple of minutes. A company called GT Dream Cars offers people the opportunity to drive the exotic car of their choice around a racetrack or on a scenic route for a different range of prices. The price depends on the car and how long you would like your experience to last. Ever since I was a young girl I have been telling my parents that one day I am going to own a custom Lamborghini. They always encourage me to work hard and to reach my dreams but even I know that the price of a custom Italian sports car is unrealistic for even some of the upper class in today’s society. One year my parents decided that although they can’t afford to buy me my dream car, they would be willing to pay for me to at least drive it once in my life and for my birthday they took me to visit GT Dream Cars. The concept of GT Dream Cars is a great idea and allows people who can’t afford their dreams to get a small experience of them. The company owns a variety of cars including different models of Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Maseratis, Bentleys, and many more. They have both luxury and speed options to fit the wishes of each person. The prices of the cars are determined by lap and range anywhere from $250 to $400 for three laps. Although that may seem expensive, compared to the price of actually owning and insuring the cars, which are all well over $100,000, it is a pretty good deal. The company even got together with the coupon website, Groupon, and offers a special where you can get three laps for just a hundred dollars. Upon arrival at the racetrack I had a level of expectations set. The prices of the cars are so high due to the quality of the cars as well as the speeds and the detailed luxury interiors. With that in mind, I was surprised to arrive and be greeted by a tent set up with a fold out table and chairs. I was expecting something a little more fancy considering the people are dealing with hundred thousand dollar cars. However, the tent was only where you paid and checked in so I did not think much of it at the time. After waiting an hour past the time of my scheduled appointment I was finally called down with a group of people to the racetrack where the cars were located. There I stood another half hour with a group of anxious people waiting to drive away. At this point I was wondering why they were so behind on appointments and why they were so unorganized. However, I was still excited to be so close to driving away in the car of my dreams. Before allowing anyone to drive the cars, GT Dream Cars requires participants to sign a safety waiver and to understand the rules and procedures. Everyone is required to have a licensed and trained instructor in the car during the experience. All participants must wear helmets and be properly clothed. They do set a speed limit and warn people about the bank in the track and where the turns are. They also teach you what the signs mean so that you know when you have to slow down or park the car. The company is so strict on rules due to the dangerous speeds the cars can go and the high prices any repairs would cost. There is one last thing you get to do before actually driving the cars. Each participant is given a time period to look at all of the cars up close and take pictures of or with them. The pictures on the website of the exotic cars were much nicer than the cars actually were. The interiors were worn down and dirty and even the exteriors could have been cleaner. The look and feel of the car is a big part of the experience and the condition of the Lamborghini I drove was a big disappointment. Finally came the time to get in the car and I could not have been more excited. I was surprised and slightly angry that they had several of the exotic cars on the track at once. This seemed slightly dangerous to me to have several inexperienced drivers in fast cars on the same track at once; this must have been a main reason for the instructor sitting beside me. With that said, the instructor had no control of the car and now I had the responsibility of being aware of the other drivers on the track instead of just enjoying my experience to the fullest. As soon as I got in the car I could not remove the smile on my face. The four laps that followed went by so quick that I was half tempted to drive away and see how far I could get before being stopped. It wasn’t until after I got out of the car that I realized I was so mesmerized by the fact that I was driving a Lamborghini that I forgot to look at the speedometer and see my top speed. The instructor was friendly and encouraged me to enjoy the experience while it lasted. Afterwards, I realized that I had paid over a hundred dollars and drove over an hour away for a four-minute car ride. It was however, four quick minutes in the car of my dreams and that may or may not be the only time I will ever get to drive one. With that said, I will definitely continue working hard to own a Lamborghini one day. Even with the clearly overused condition the Lamborghini still was an extremely nice car. I do wonder however if the experience was worth the price and time put into it. GT Dream Cars allows people to drive the cars on their wish lists make their dreams a reality for a day, and by day I mean four minutes. After spending hundreds of dollars, spending time to reserve the right car and time, and then waiting over an hour past that time to drive the car, I would not say the four minutes is worth it. This is especially true for those who have to drive a long way just to get to the location of the racetrack. The “exotic experience” which the website advertises is completely hyped up to be way more than it actually is. According to others who have shared my experience, my four minutes was more than they got to experience due to last minute cancellations by the company (GT Dream Cars). Overall I would say that if you want to own a Lamborghini or something expensive one day, work hard to own it yourself. As the gesture is nice to be allowed to drive someone else’s Lamborghini, the process involved is not worth the price or the effort and rules. Part of the fantasy experience is enjoying the luxury of the car and not just the speed. I could have driven any car on the racetrack the same speed and would have paid a lot less money. My wife purchased three Groupon certs last year for my sons and I as a Father's Day present and we never got around to using them until our targeted date in March of 2013 which is when everything started going wrong. They lost their agreement with Englishtown to use their track and never established any new schedule anywhere else. No responses from their email address, their telephone voicemail is full and not accepting any more messages and they also don't respond to Facebook message requests. That's enough of a sign to me that it's time to get our money back from Groupon which we did this week. And Groupon said they are also having trouble doing the same with GTDC. Get out while you can everyone!!!

Took a day off work to drive a "dream car". Left my house at 6am to get to NJ by 7am. around 6;30am GT called me on a "private" unlisted number and left a computer message that my "ride" was cancelled. No one answered the regular telephone number, even after leaving a message. The day was a beautiful sunny day, so the weather was not to blame, despite receiving my money back, I lost a day at work.

I signed up for the groupon back in Dec 2011 and still haven't been able to schedule due to scheduled days happened to fall on days of inclement weather. They agreed to extend groupon's from that period to this year and website states they would have new dates posted on June 1st. Come June 1st, date had changed to June 21st. Being a patient man (or sucker) come June 21st, they don't even bother extending the posting date and here I am, June 27th, staring at a "temporary closed" page with no dates in site. I've sent numerous emails asking when will they post dates so I can finally use my groupon and be done with it. No answer as of yet and seems the company is pretty much done with my $99 gone. Do yourself a favor, if something sounds to good to be true, it very well is.

4 of us puchased the "GT Dreams cars driving experience" through Groupon, without reading reviews of the company beforehand. We were scheduled to drive the cars the afternoon of March 10th 2013. We are all car guys, and really were excited about being able to experience drive a couple bad a$$ cars that none of us will ever be able to drive otherwise. GT Dream cars made it well aware that they will ONLY contact you through email if there is a cancellation, that being said, we all have smartphones with email, so if there was an email sent out, you would think 1 in 4 would at least recieve it.. The weather for March 10th was perfect. It was over 50 degrees, which is unseasonably warm for the northeast.We had a 4 hour drive to get to the track, so we left around 7am. Over 2 hours into the trip, one of us recieves a phone call from GT Dreamcars. They told them that their driving experience had been cancelled. When asked why, they wouldn't give an answer. So we got NO EMAIL, like we were told all correspondences from them would be. They called each of us, and finally whenever I got my call, I demanded to know why it was cancelled. The guy said it was cancelled because there was black ice all over the track, and that its not their fault, its the track officials. IT WAS OVER 50 DEGREES, AND ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS OUTSIDE!! Anyway, the gentleman who called me was short and rude with me, very poor customer service skills. He told me we were going to be rescheduled for tomorrow, as if that would be okay with everyones schedules. They don't take into consideration that some people had to move things around in order to make it there on the scheduled day, what makes them think we can just cancel all appointments and work for Monday, and drive another 4 hours one way? NOPE, no way, I want my money back. I don't want anything to do with GT Dreamcars, I will not drive their cars, they can kiss my a$$!After returning home, I get an email from GT Dreamcars, that says they are cacelling for Saturday, March 9th, and that you could come on Sunday, March 10th and use your same time slot... Hmmm that doesnt make sense at all, seeing as WE were scheduled for March 10th.. I think they messed up and cancelled the Saturday people, then told them all they could come on Sunday (just completely forgetting the fact that they already had people coming that were scheduled on Sunday) And then blame the track for their poor planning. TL;DR: GT DREAMCARS IS A TOTAL JOKE OF A COMPANY!! PLEASE DO YOUR HOMEWORK, READ SOME OF THESE REVIEWS!! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY, AND EVEN MORE IMPORTANTLY, SOMETHING YOU'LL NEVER GET BACK....YOUR TIME!

My 3 friends and I bought Groupons to do this "driving experience". We were scheduled for March 10th. Its a 4 hour trip to the track, and 2 hours into the trip we received phone calls stating they had to cancel due to ice on the track, it was 50 degrees outside..... Anyway on the phone they told us we would receive full refunds. Its 11 days later and they are now saying they don't have the ability to give refunds? None of us want to waste more time and money to drive 4 hours just to once again be told its canceled. I would avoid dealing with these guys, I really wish I would have read some reviews on them before paying them $100 for nothing.

I drove 2.5 hours only to find out by the track security guard that the experience was canceled and it was the fourth time this has happened. 2 hours later we got an email stating that they were under the impression that some of their clients did not receive the cancellation notice for that day, (march 9). In their email they stated you should reschedule the next day and will be highly compensated with incentives for your troubles. Good thing we were smarter than them and did not reschedule for the next day, they sent out the same cancellation notice as the day before. We sent them an email letting them know how much time and money it took to get there to only get screwed at the gate!!!! Until now they have yet to respond. I WILL NOT DRIVE THEIR CARS EVEN IF THEY DELIVERED THE CARS TO MY HOUSE!!!!!!!!

Went on a Groupon gift for March 11, 2013 ride. I arrived at Raceway Park. There was no sign to show where GT Dreamcars was located. After asking around, I found their "facility" to be a tent on a muddy lawn with a Port-A-Potty next to it. At 9AM, they had not set up yet, and the 8:30AM appointments were not happy. By 10:00 AM, no rides started yet, and there were maybe 30 angry people wanting information on what was going on. At about 10:20AM I got my $25 cash "insurance fee" back. When I got home, GT Dreamcars sent an e-mail message time- stamped 11:53AM that the day's session was cancelled, blaming track operators. Thanks. I just wasted a Sunday morning.The e-mail offered to reschedule for "tomorrow Sunday." Uh - "tomorrow" is Monday, Einstein.In speaking to other people, I found out that this is a pattern with GT Dreamcars.Stay away from these blithering idiots.

Arrived after a 1 hour and 45 minute drive to find out our driving experience had been cancelled with no email notification whatsoever...it was us and about 10 other people in the same boat. I was able to get gt dreamcars on the phone, they blamed the raceway, but a manager from the track was there to greet us all and assured us it was gt dream cars and that this was not the first time they had done this.Do Not Use This Company!!!!!

This review is regarding a gift I had purchased for my fiance with GT Dream Cars. I purchased a groupon last christmas for my fiance for a supercar driving experience. The description clearly states, "customers take a discovery lap in the Aston Martin Vantage, then choose to continue their experience in the Bentley Continental GT, Ferrari F430 Scuderia, Lamborghini Gallardo, Maserati GranTurismo, or stay in the Aston Martin Vantage". It was the ferrari that my fiance chose to select when planning to redeem his experience. He made sure to select a date and time in which the ferrari was available to drive. We took the hour and 45 minute drive this afternoon to the "track". Imagine our surprise when our "luxury car driving experience" was begun in a dirty tent outside with fold up table and a girl taking cash only from a mobile register. When checking in we were never informed that the car that we had reserved was not available. In fact we overheard the girl tell another customer that they did not run it today, it was "broken". Now, after an hour and 45 minute drive we learn (by overhearing, also by observing there appear to be only two Lamborghini Gallardos on the track) that the car he had selected is not even here, much less the Aston Martin Vantage listed in the package description. We were checking our email regularly (considering that your rules state that they have up and until the time of your scheduled drive to cancel) but never received notification regarding the change of vehicles. But yet, there is a cancellation fee if WE cancel? Andrea, the girl at the register, listened to our concerns and stated that she could offer for us to come back to drive the intended vehicle. Of course, we declined considering we had already driven and hour and 45 minutes (after being cancelled on by the company two times before) and were not having the greatest experience. Then to add insult to injury you must pay ten dollars to spectate aka sit in the freezing cold and wait for your family member or spouse to take their turn? I could go on and on but it suffices to say that this "driving experience" was more of a nightmare. This is probably the worst run business I have ever come in contact with. Oh wait did I mention the port-a-potties?

I strongly advise consumers to not purchase the GT Dream Cars experience product. I found the company to have anti-customer business practices. My "Dream Car Experience" was a complete bust.This review is based on the fact that the company unilaterally cancelled my appointment at the last minute and never provided an explanation nor response to any of my inquiries. Details of my negative experience are as follows:I bought a 6 lap package and pre-scheduled my time for 9:30 AM well in advance. The company sent an email at 6AM on the day I was scheduled to drive. Unfortunately I was already on route to the track as I live several hours away. The company's last minute cancellation cost me lost work, lost time and money on gas/tolls commuting to the racetrack. I reached out to the company on several occasions to understand what had happened. I recommend the company's cancellation and communication practices change to be more mindful of the customer. Cancellations should not be done on the day scheduled and the company should respond to customer inquiries.

My wife bought me a Groupon for GT Dream Cars last Christmas. Her main reason was for me to drive a Ferrari. I am a car nut and restore classic cars and own several. The booking process was not user friendly at all. It was almost impossible to contact these people and to book the experience online. After many attempts and difficulties I just put it off. I then had to use it by the end of the year so I ended up only being able to get booked on December 23rd due to a cancellation. I specifically booked a Ferrari and this was confirmed. Upon arrival things started to make sense. The operation was really a fly-by-night situation. The check in was outside under a small tent next to the track. It was crowded (overbooked), perhaps due to all the Groupon people trying to use their certificate before they ran out at year's end. It was freezing and windy! I noticed immediately that there was no Ferrari anywhere. Only two identical Lamborghini's were on the track. They informed me that there was no option to pay the $99 for the extra two laps, as advertised on their web site and their e-conformation, due to how crowded they were. By the way, they ONLY take cash! After waiting in the cold through the overbooking delay, having a brief overview session outside in chairs freezing, I finally got to drive the car. The ride-along personnel are basically high school-looking kids and not professional drivers. The car was entirely automatic and had no paddle shifters like the Ferrari did. I was told the Ferrari was "broke", but the website says they have "four" to select from. So how could the Ferrari be "broke"? All four were broke? Turns out, from speaking to the kid riding along in my car, they basically rent these cars out. I would bet that they rented out all the Ferrari cars, especially since it is a holiday weekend, and our bookings didn't matter to them. The Lambo I drove was "beat" and needed a tune-up desperately. The engine was "missing" and bogging down at one point in its power envelope. My 2002 WS6 Ram Air Trans Am would have toasted it! The track, as set-up, was small with corners too tight for smooth contiguous racing laps and you are on this small track with another car. Basically, this was an experience for amateurs and not anyone familiar with driving performance cars. Save your money and go to Skip Barber Driving School or some other professionally-run driving experience. There is clearly a reason they are offering this via a Groupon to get people to go.

My husband, son and his father-in-law had a really good time driving a Ferrari. They said it was fun, but there were only 3 short laps around and they didn't feel it was worth the money for such a short time. They also charge you for insurance in addition to the price so it makes it very pricey.

So this was a gift to my husband and son. First let me say that it is extremely difficult to contact this company. We purchased this through Groupon..so I called Groupon to see if they could contact them to schedule our appt. someone called me back 3 weeks later. So I purchased in April and got an appt. for Sept. that said, my guys loved the experience. This place is a track with an outside pop up tent to check in. No office,no building just a pop up tent. they were running behind about 1Hour in appt ime..we arrived 30minutes early and waited 1 hour and 10 min before my guys drove. The choice there were 2older Lambo's ( maybe 2006) a newer Ferrari and an older Ferrari (maybe 2009). You only get 3 laps..the person who rides along with you tried to ell you to take a lap to fel the car..don't listen to him you ride is practically over !enjoy ..you wear helmets!They charge you on the site $25 per person for insurance? $10 for ach spectator...contract says no photos but they do allow you.

Before making the 150 + mile trek down to NJ for my ride in an exotic "Dream Car"I contacted the Dream Car office to make sure my 11:40 AM appointment was still scheduled as the morning looked cloudy, possibly there might be rain, (there wasn't) and I was assured I was correctly scheduled. As a mater of fact they requested I get there sooner to take care of the registration process. I arrived at 11:30 signed in and waited and waited and waited. I was finally directed to the staging area where I found more than another dozen or so Driver hopefuls waiting for a ride in the same car (Lamborghini) for the same appointment. It was already past 12:30. They had been running a total of 4 cars when suddenly they pulled two off the track and limited the Lamborghini and an Aston Martin to fulfilling the needs of all of the customers. That was it for me. I returned to the registration tent to get my Insurance money and Spectator charges back ($25. + $10.) The person in charge offered me nothing in satisfaction until I escalated my demand.I was through being friendly. He called HIS boss who told him to refund my cash and I left knowing full well that I'd be calling Groupon (where I had made the purchase ) to explain my dis-pleasure. I did and they, Groupon customer service, were extremely attentive to my concerns and refunded my original purchase price ($99.) The opportunity to have the experience of Driving An Exotic on a fast track as advertised is exciting, but you won't find it with this New Jersey Company, it's a terribly managed company. In addition;As I waited my turn I could see some of the more fortunate people who got a chance to drive, circle the track. The course is not built for any type of speed nor designed for any particular driving skills, I had more fun driving my Toyota home on the Garden State Parkway then they did in the Lamborghini. Don't waste your time.
