chandelier room

I think this is a nice venue and it wasn't too crowded. Drinks are on the high side but I think that can be expected at a W Hotel. However, I don't think the DJ was concerned about playing music that the clientele could actually dance to -- seems like he just picked songs that he might enjoy sitting in his car/house.

If you want to have a nice drink while having an amazing view of manhattan... this is the place to go! The Lounge Bar atmosphere is very nice, and the terrace is perfect to chill with my friends. Late night you will have a New York club like atmosphere, which is great!

I wanted to write a review of the Chandelier Room at the W but it seems it is not listed on here. I usually like to write reviews when I've had really great experiences and until now, those have been the only kinds of reviews I have ever written. However, thanks to the awful experience I had at the W, that has changed and I believe it is absolutely necessary to warn others about the staff and thieves at the Chandelier Room at the W hotel. I wish I had been warned.I went with a very large group (we had FOUR tables and additional guests) to the Chandelier Room for New Years Eve. HUGE MISTAKE. Most Definitely the WORST NEW YEARS EVE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!We had four tables reserved meaning between all four tables and all of the other people that purchased tickets to join us, we spent thousands of dollars at this place that night. You'd think you'd get some decent service for that but no, not the case at the Chandelier Room. The female server we had was condescending and rude from the start. We spent a lot of money for very little in return (just drinks, no food) and worst of all, MY PURSE WAS STOLEN and they did NOTHING but LAUGH!When I noticed it was stolen, I immediately told the male server who was handling our section. This person actually had the nerve to laugh in my face about it. I have never seen such unprofessional behavior as at the Chandelier Room. I asked for him to not laugh and to help look for the purse and was dismissed. When I asked to speak with a manager, the person that came over was equally uncaring and unprofessional. I am appalled and disgusted at the staff of the Chandelier Room and will be making sure everyone I know is aware of this. I give this place the absolute lowest rating possible. I called the next day and spoke with security and they were equally uninterested and far from helpful. Perhaps theft is commonplace here, the place is a rip-off to begin with but apparently that's not enough. They need to steal your possessions as well and then don't want to hear about it. I do a lot of eating out and traveling for work and pleasure and will be sure to avoid any W establishment in the future. Apparently, they don't teach their staff decency and respect for their clientele. HOLD ON TO YOUR VALUABLES. We had a whole section to ourselves and still my purse was stolen and the W did nothing about it. If you value your belongings, you'd be better off to stay home. I know I wish I did.
