hawk haven vineyard and winery

We went to Hawk Haven as a quick trip while spending a long weekend in Cape May this past fall. Brought the dog, loved the wine and the service. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and wine was surprisingly good!

This was our first stop on our wine tasting tour. Todd was very informative and engaging during the tasting. He answered all of our questions. We never felt rushed, or an inconvenience as more people kept coming into the winery (sign of good wine, lots of foot traffic to buy their wine) Wonderful array of wine. There was something for everyone. The tasting room was decorated for the holidays and just made our experience that much merrier. We will be stopping in the next time we are in the area to purchase more.

We enjoyed our recent wine tasting and came away with a box full of bottles to share with family and friends for the holidays! Lovely property and knowledgable staff. Will definitely visit again!

We have been to several wineries in the area and sometimes feel a little out of place. We like a more relaxed setting where the people aren't too pushy. The staff at Hawk Haven were great. Very friendly and knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. Oh and the wines were great too! We really enjoyed our visit here.

My husband and I stayed at a B&B in Cape May this past fall (the off-season for the area) and got a Living Social to this winery along with the stay. We were so happy we went! This winery has such knowledgable and friendly staff- we felt right at home. Hawk Haven also has a wide variety of wines to choose from- many more selections than some of the other wineries in the area. Even though it is a small winery, it is intimate and quite lovely. We had a wonderful time and next time we visit Cape May, we are sure to come back! We just adore the Northern Harrier Red. We might make a drive out just to pick up some more! ;)

We stopped by with a group of four after a friend recommended it. There was a large group ahead of us but Joe saw us and took care of us right away. Very informative about all the wines we tasted and the history. Very clean place too. Definitely going back.

We spent the afternoon at the winery and we thoroughly enjoyed the tour and tasting. Our guide was interesting and informative. The selection of wines was great and we met two other couples that were very friendly, this made the experience that much more fun. We were served a variety of cheese and crackers after the tour and the owner Todd, came over and answered questions and chatted with us. All in all, I would recommend this winery and plan on returning.

Hi Susan, Thank you for leaving feedback for us. I'm so sorry to hear you had such troubles getting in touch with us but I'm glad everything worked out in the end. I'm afraid you caught us during a week when our tasting room manager was out of town. She is the one that takes care of the emails, and mans the register on busy weekends. We missed her terribly, especially her speedy register skills. And of course our email server went bonkers at the same time so our group coordinator had difficulties sending out emails. Again I apologize and thank you for taking the time to write a review for us.

My wife & I ventured out from Cape May on the Friday afternoon of the Exit 0 Jazz Fest. Hawk Haven was easy to find and well worth the trip! Mary Rose courteously guided us through the nine tastings ($7.00) of their varieties of reds & whites! Very friendly staff! Beautiful facility!

It was cold (Late October) when we visited this vineyard so not much to talk about reagrding the grounds. But a very nice, romantic, and intimate place to sip some local wines!

Stopped by for wine tasting with 7 types for $7. All palatable but only the Cabernet was excellent. After tasting, are outside afterwards a cheese tray that was $26 but barely a snack for 6 people. Service outside very slow but short staffed. Would recommend the wine tasting but pass on outside sharing of bottle and food snacks.

A great place to visit. The grounds are beautiful and relaxing.The staff is friendly.A great time!Adults and kids can have fun.I will be nack to visit just because it is a great place!

Of course, I liked the $34 bottle of TALON the best! I was impressed with the dryness of the Reisling. Sweet wines tend to give me a headache so I was very appreciative of a dry Reisling. I will definitely be getting more wines from Hawk Haven next time I am in Cape May!
