There are some items here that really cool, authentic and worth buying. Other items are just crap that you would find at your modern stores. But it's a definite stop to see authentic beverage coolers, local candies and treats and a great place to xmas shop. Highly Recommended.

We were driving through the area and decided to stop. The store exceeded our expectations. The museum was closed during our visit but we spent over an hour exploring the store, they have something for everyone gifts, books, kitchen and cooking supplies, clothing and penny candy. We enjoyed our visit and plan on returning for Christmas shopping.

A must stop for our yearly trek to the White Mountains. There is so much to see and buy in this store. There is food, a nice old fashioned candy counter, clothes, a kitchen gadget section, I found a lot to buy here. I never walk away empty handed. They have a museum upstairs with tools and things from the area. Great stop for any age.

Nice general store that's large and has tons to choose from. Definitely a good stop. Tons of merchandise to look through. No trip to New England is complete without a trip to a general store.

Adequate, but that's it. Definitely used frozen spinach in the omelette, ick. People were nice though and homemade bread was pretty good

What a treat this place is especially if you are looking for a kitchen gadget or a different gift for an occasion. They have penny candy, a pickle barrel and lots of knick knacks. It is like going back in time and is a national historical building. Great for the kids, too.

Neat experience. Lots and lots of "stuff" and fun to browse. They have everything you can imagine. A really nice "take-in" while on an afternoon drive.

This is supposedly the oldest general store in the country, having been in business since 1781, and I believe it! When you walk into this store, you are stepping back in time. There is a wooden Indian on the porch (yes, it still has a front porch!) and a pickle barrel inside. They have penny candy, knick-knacks, t-shirts, and a great selection of cast-iron cookware. As expected in New England, they also sell maple syrup and cheese. You can easily spend an hour here, but if you want to see the whole thing, plan on more than one hour. It's a mind-boggling assortment of goods that is fun to browse. The old floors creak, the aisles are narrow and there is no air-conditioning. Just as one would expect in an old country store.
