Easy hike to a beautiful summit. It can get crowded, and parking is limited...best to start out early. It takes about 20 minutes to half and hour to reach the top. There are other trails at the top that lead to the other side of the mountain.

This mountain in Rumney has some of the best sport climbing in the country. There are tons of climbs and you really do need to get the Rumney Climbing guide to get around. Wicked crowded on weekends, seriously! If you want to park, get there super early or go mid-week and have the place almost to yourself.

Located only about 25 minutes from Concord, this great little hike is perfect for hikers of all ages. It took us only about 45 minutes round trip, and we spent about that long at the top soaking in the gorgeous panoramic view. It was stunning...looking down at the majestic views of the lake and the surrounding homes/farms. The hike is not super strenuous, it was just right for a quick side trip on the way to the lake or to the nature center etc. There were older couples, families with young kids, singles with dogs....all sorts of outdoor enthusiasts enjoying the hike. There is free parking at the bottom of the mountain, on both sides of the road. We felt safe leaving our things in the car as we hiked. It was a little confusing coming back down the mountain, there are several different trails that apparently come out at different parking lots. We assumed it was a loop and went down the wrong trail, another couple was coming back up, and informed us that we were going the wrong way, so do beware that you take the same trail back down. :) Well worth the drive....not too far from the Tilton outlets! Breathtaking views!

Rumney mountain trail is close to Plymouth and the loop can be done in less then an hour if you keep moving. The views are fantastic and there is seldom more than one other hiker on the trail.

This is a great local climb with outstanding views in many directions. The entrance is hard to find. I have hiked here many times and I still drive by the parking area sometimes. We used to run this loop and do it in under 40 minutes but now I plan on an hour. That is walking at a brisk pace. There is only room for about three cars at the pull in but there usually is a space. Take Buffalo Road in Rumney past the rock climbing day use parking areas about 3/4 of a mile. Keep looking on the right once the cliffs end for a pull in to the woods about 30' deep. There is a small sign once you pull in. The trail starts off gentle for a few hundred yards then climbs fairly steep up the spine of the hill for a sustained period. There is a stream for the dogs on the lower 3rd and water spots near the top. At the top of the sustained climb there is a loop you should not miss. This is the scenic part with all the views. Follow the yellow blazes on the rock and trees around a nice vista.
