apple acres

I've been going to Apple Acres for some time now but have been disappointed as of late. The cost of the apples are quite expensive, their hayrides are not as long or as fun as they used to be however their selection of apples, pumpkins, baked goods and candies are wonderful.

We cannot say anything about the U-pick apple side of their business since we haven't done that, but the pies are unbelievable. First, there is a huge selection of apple and berry pies. Second, they are similar if not better than the ones my Mom used to make with lots of fresh fillings and real made from scratch (I think) crusts, not the usual funny-tasting ones that you get at the supermarket. On this trip we bought three pies for a large group: Dutch apple, Maine blueberry and cherry. The fillings were fresh, not the slimy stuff out of a can. The pies are not cheap. Large ones are $15-$16.50, but they are worth it in my opinion. No credit cards are accepted, and the store is open only in the fall I believe.Stop on the way home and pick up some ice cream and enjoy!
