nice quiet park to walk and relax, close to town, clean and free parking. there was a band playing Americana music
Off the beaten track little state park with direct access to a quiet lake for swimming and lots of picnic tables. Small tho very well kept, clean and pretty setting. Lots of trees for shade and open areas by the lake for sunbathing. Very small swim area and rather crowded by the beach area. Not many amenities, but great for a family day by the lake,Rated a 3 only because there are just so many nice parks around with as good/better setting, more amenities and not as crowded. (White Lake and Albe)
you are still technically in wolfeboro, however, on gov wentworth highway (very secondary road) in the outskirts...which is minus the traffic and hustle and bustle of the wolfeboro village heartbeat.Lake Wentworth , fortunately does not receive as much attention as Winni.........but it is huge, clean and exquisitely set amidstthe n.h. forests. a perfect lake for swimming and boating without the wind, currents or mayhem of gigantic motorboats as on the big lake.
If you're in the Wolfeboro Area, and you're hot, this is the place to cool off. Local color. Warm water and real sandy bottom.
It is such a beautiful spot. Water was pretty calm and the perfect temperature for swimming. It has facilities such as restrooms & barbecuing areas with lots of picnic tables. It had a nice family atmosphere. I really enjoyed messing around in the water, though a tall person would be able to stand throughout the entire swimming area. It was quite busy, but then all the good places are. :-)
Nice clean and updated state park on the lake with picnic tables and cooking pedestals. Got to get there early or else you'll be out of luck for spots and tables
quiet place just off the road, nice to spend an afternoon here. Within a few minutes of Wolfeboro which has some nice restaurants. A good day would be here in the day with some eats and beers in the evening in wolfeboro
While Lake Wentworth isn't the biggest lake in the area, or in NH for that matter, shadowed by the much bigger and much more popular Lake Winnipesaukee, it is, in my opinion a much quieter, clean and better option.Long story short, I was able to spend a couple of amazing days in a lake-front house there through friends of my fiancee's family and had an absolute blast. The water is slightly warm, super clean and there's plenty of beautiful biodiversity to admire without it being ruined my algae. There's fish, there's loons and there's even a small family of bald eagles. It's also very serene and while I'm not much of a nature person, I cannot wait to return there.I just hope that people don't catch on and start invading it like they did the other, bigger lake. It's definitely a fun time whether you want to admire the lake, take a boat out or kayak. I highly recommend it. It's kind of a shame that it falls right into Romney's roaming grounds but what can I say, the man has good taste when it comes to lakes.
A place that has facitities. The sand is pebbly. It's a shallow beach front. You can go out a log ways and it's still not very deep. Plenty of area to wade for the kids.
When the wind is blowing--and even if it's not, this is the place to get some sun and sand--and a wonderful swim! Clean, inviting and not too crowded!
Beach is great, water is nice and plenty of shade if needed. Bring your canoe!
Lake Wentworth is a smaller, quieter sister Lake to Winnepesaukee and this beach is a great way to access it.Nice spot for a picnic with views of the islands in the Lake. The park is well maintained and never too crowded to be pleasant.
