Went fishing with Capt. Jason in mid July. Fished Mantrap Lake for muskie & pike. Beautiful lake & great pike fishing. Getting there was half the fun, as we met in Nevis & headed to get bait. Really cool baitfish farm where we picked up suckers, mostly smaller ones, but a few big ones, for the "Big One." I was throwing big spinners for muskie, while the other anglers fished suckers for pike. After 20 min. & lots of casting, I joined the others fishing for pike. We caught & released a lot of pike, kept a few & had several largemouth bass mixed in as well. The largest fish was a 36 in. pike caught by my girlfriend's sister(of course) caught on one of the big suckers. A great day was had by all & the fish was awesome for dinner that night. Always a great day on the water with Jason.

Every year I have my daughter fish with Jason. He applies his skills and patience as a kindergarten teacher to make fishing fun for everyone. My daughter continues to learn more and love the sport. She also catches a ton of fish with Jason and her smile is why we go back every year!Jason has a lot of other accomplishments too like being an author, writer for the paper, and Guide for the Governor for the MN Fishing Opener in 2013. You won't be disappointed!
