We really enjoyed the performance. We laughed that we might have brought down the median age of the group. We thought it was an awesome experience and intend on bringing our friends next time.
our family truly enjoys the plays at the theater. We try to go as often as we can. The price is reasonable and the actors seem accomplished and seem to enjoy doing their performances. The children's theater is great. We feel exposure to live theater is important in this tech oriented culture and the kids love going! I definately recommend a visit to the theater if you plan to be in the area. You can even order tickets ahead of time online and choose your seat.
I have been to Old Creamery Theater many times and never been disappointed. The actors and the plays are some of the best in the State. The audience seating is set so there isn't a bad seat in the house. My wife and I make sure we have our tickets at the beginning of each season so we don't miss out, then we plan our day around the shows. This is definitely one of the better places to spend an evening.
Took the grandkids to see Junie B. Jones in Jingle Bells Bat Man smells. We had the best of times- the play was great- the actors were wonderful and the price was very reasonable at $9 each with reserved seating. Order your tickets early for good seating. Can't wait to go again.
The Old Creamery Theater is an awesome addition to the Amana Colonies. Children's shows, musicals, drama, etc. There is something for everyone. Next year's lineup looks great. We are so lucky to have this theater so close.
The Old Creamery Theater is a real gem in the Heartland! We are treated to excellent stage shows with terrific performances. The range and selection of plays and other shows are exceptional! We are lucky to have this troupe nearby. They always give us great entertainment!
Unfortunately, the play we saw was completely over the top slap stick which we do not especially enjoy. However, the acting was well done, the atmosphere congenial and laid back and a interesting evening.
Caught the story and music of the Man in Black, Johnny Cash at the Old Creamery Theatre during the last week of April. Excellent entertainment.
We saw the play "The Church Basement Ladies". It was a fun presentation, with lots of singing and fun acting. It only involved 3 ladies and 1 gentleman, but they all did there parts well. We laughed and had a great time. If you are touring the Amana's I would strongly recommend that you visit the Theater.
Laughing one minute, teary-eyed the next. The cast was excellent. The Old Creamery Theatre always does a quality job!
The day we attended, there was no A/C in the school house. During the intermission, we were given free water and told to "cool off" in the messy and cluttered rehearsal hall (while waiting for the ambulance to come and transport an elderly gentleman who fell right onto the "stage." First time attender, so I guess I expected a stage and theater seats rather than folding chairs in a school classroom and entrance down school hallways that had had no effort to be decorated otherwise. And the parking lot was full of roofers--not the "theatrical experience" I expected from a company with the reputation of The Old Creamery Theatere. The play and the actors were very good--the surroundings were terrible.
I booked tickets for the play "The Last Romance" last weekend - it was so bad I left at intermission. What a disappointment. The theater itself was very nice - the actors and singers(there were only 4 total) did well - it was the material that was dead boring.
What a delightful show. Not only entertaining for the little ones, but funny for the grown-ups. Always enjoy going to OCT, both the main stage shows & the Studio.
We saw a nice show here. Not a giant production-3 musicians, 4 actors, but it was very entertaining. So glad they used real musicians rather than a soundtrack. The band was great. Super talented individuals. And the actors were talented as well. We had a great time. In December, all the Amana stores close around 5. So you can shop until 5, eat, and either catch their show or go back to the hotel and watch tv. If you choose watching tv you are short-changing yourself. I'm glad we went, and if we go back, this will be on our "must-do" list.
I just recently discovered this gem in Amana Iowa. The three shows I have seen there have all been wonderful and the ticket prices are a steal!
