Changing displays. Roomy area to wander. Helpful staff. you may want to call ahead to make sure they are open. Unique pieces to adore like an English teapot that steeps on its side then pours upright, keeping the tea leaves in the upper area. Grant Wood on display currently.

Brunnier hosts interesting exhibits throughout the year. The museum is located near Hilton coliseum and Cyclone stadium. I often sneak out of ballgames and walk over to the museum for a break. However, if you are in Ames, it is worth stopping in to see what is on display. Exhibits are often from the permanent collection, but also include borrowed pieces from private collections and other museums. I always enjoy the Christian Peterson and Grant Wood related exhibits, however, all the exhibits are interesting!
