We happened by this museum on our bike trip across the country. We were taking some back roads in Boise and saw the museum. It was Sunday, so it was closed, but there is a bunch of equipment displayed outside. Tanks, artillery, military construction equipment, cannons, jets, jeeps, etc. Mostly US, but there is a MIG as well. It was a great fine and even if you don't get in, enjoy the equipment outside, and it's free!!
I was last there in 2012, can't auto list it above. There are a lot of very interesting things there, dealing with military history and Idaho military history. Located on the other side of the runway from the terminal.
Simply free, but donations accepted, this museum covers virtually all US war periods. Uniforms, weapons, details of various battles. Emphasis on local and regional soldiers, sailors, corpsmen, and airmen are included. great history lesson.
Very nice lots of artifacts from different time periods, with information about what it is and where or how it was used. Staff willing and ready to talk and explain about anything you want to know about. History go and remember and enjoy.
This was a special event for Veterans Day and it was really special. The nightfire featured weapons of all ages being fired on site including cannons and muskets. Inside while it is not the biggest facility I have ever been to they did a wonderful job with the displays and had a great deal of respect and dignity for those who have given all to our country.
