1000 springs tours

This was really a highlight of our trip to Thousand Springs, Idaho. We took the dinner cruise on the "River's Mist" 52-foot catamaran. It's a 12-mile cruise lasting about 2-hours on the Snake River, so you can really see the sites (waterfalls gushing out of the mountains in the Thousand Springs area) along the river that you would otherwise miss. A highlight was Blueheart Springs, which bubbles up from deep within the river bed to provide a beautiful crystal clear pool of water. The food was excellent as well, provided by the Snake River Grill (we enjoyed the food so much we went to the Snake River Grill restaurant in Hagerman the next day to try out the alligator.

We has read about this local attraction in the paper and then friends recommended it so we gave it a try. The owners are very helpful and gracious and kept in touch with us until they had a tour scheduld that met our timeframe. We took the lunch tour and along with 18 other folks we boarded the catamaran boat for our trip of 12 miles of the scenic Snake River. This part of the river is unique because of all the springs flowing from the north cliffs. The captain took us into one of the estuarys called Blue Heart Springs and the water was amazingly clear. He told us many interesting things about sites all along the way. (I won't tell any more so as not to spoil it for you.) It was a very relaxing ride and halfway through they served a wonderful lunch. There was enough time to leisurely enjoy our meal before we got back to the dock where we began. We would definitely recommend this if you have a few hours to spare. They run tours year round. Allow a half hour to find the place if you are unfamiliar with the area but there are signs to help. The meal (lunch or supper) is included in the fee.
