starlight mountain theatre

This trip was to see family and friends. We were told about this theatre from My husbands niece and it was a very nice evening. Thought we were going to see Footloose as advertised but it was The sound of music. We really enjoyed it...good acting and they really mixed with the crowd. It got a little cool but not too bad....bring bug spray or you will be eaten alive. Really good value and all good seats. It is for sale which is very sad, do hope someone keeps this little gem going.

My family has been to the Starlight theater twice in the last couple of years. We go to the Boise area every year to visit family. The Theater is outside with mountians covered in pine trees for the backdrop. The actors are mainly young people from the area and they are amazing. We saw 7 Brides for 7 Brothers and then went back and saw Singing in the Rain. (it actually rained in singing in the rain and made it even better). You can get a ticket that covers dinner and the show and that is great too. The meal is simple and served by the actors. The actors are mostly young people and very fun to be around. The scenery is great. Take a blanket becuase it can get cool at night, even in July and August. The prices are different depending on the seat you choose but there is not a bad seat in the house and none are very far fromt he stage. If you choose a front row seat the actors are just a few feet in front of you. This is about an hour drive from Boise but go up and make an afternoon and evening out if it. It is great entertainment for the whole family and you will want to go back again and again.

My wife and I visited Starlight Mountain Theater for the 1st time for the July 4th presentation of Reto 7 Brides for 7 Brothers. The night was thoroughly entertaining and personal as only a local venue can be. The actors clearly put their heart and souls into the theater and presentation. During intermission, everyone was out mixing with the audience, laughing and talking - it was great! We have visited the Globe theater in London but had more fun in Starlight Mountain Theater! You should make the time and go!

A one hour drive north of Boise to a charming outdoor theatre surrounded by mountains and pines. Very energetic performance of Footloose by young adults from the northwest. Amazed at the local talent of these fun people. We opted for dinner/show package. Had a nice grilled chicken and shrimp over rice. Simple but tasty. Served backstage by the actors. Normally it is setup outside adjacent to the theatre in a picnic area but due to threatening rain they moved it inside. It did rain during the performance but the show continued with very humorous adlibs about the drizzle. We hope to go back to one of there other performances this summer.
