This is a lovely gallery with top of the line paintings and sculpture. Enjoyable to wander through, or go on an art walk. They will also help you with art related things like shipping a painting, which they did for us at one point, very safely and expertly.
One of the lovely surprises of Ketchum is the art gallery scene. Once a month, a gallery walk is staged, which allows you to wander through the galleries, drink wine, and see some astonishing art. The quality level at the Severn Gallery is particularly high, and features an eclectic mix of art from across the country and the world. Recent shows have included Marcia Meyers Pompeii-inspired oils, stunning bronze sculptures, and the latest in contemporary photography. Within walking distance are a number of other galleries, and the Sun Valley Center for the Arts which is currently featuring minimalism works.
I stumbled into this gallery while vacationing and now I purchase all of my art from them. They are able to easily ship it my home in NY.They carry contemporary artists, with a lot of the same names that I find in SoHo galleries.I found their new web site. They have a wide variety of sculpture, and paintings from representational to abstract. Their shows change monthly and their space is better than many galleries. I recommend that nobody should miss the gallery when in Sun Valley, whether shopping for your condo or home.
The Gail Severn Gallery is a wonderful place to visit while in Sun Valley! They represent a wide range of artists and have pieces for nearly every taste in art. Don't miss the gallery walks (usually once a month) - especially in the summer! The Gail Severn Gallery's new building has a wonderful feature which allows an entire wall of the gallery to open out into the street - it is a truely unique gallery experience.A good place to find information about this gallery is their page on the Sun Valley Chamber of Commerce site www.visitsunvalley.com. I will be sure to visit the gallery again on my next trip to that area!
