We took the water taxi over from the resort, which was a nice touch. We get there, check in and go upstairs to take in the views. When we went down stairs to meet our caddie, he greeted me warmly, but ignored my Wife. Big mistake. After she had a "discussion" with his supervisor, all was fixed and she opted to give the "kid" another chance. We then head to the range, which is very nice. It was similar to the facilities that Greenbrier had. We are about to head to the first tee, when it starts to thunder and there is lightning. I told the caddie I was not going to tee off because he said if we did, and they pulled us off the course or cancelled the round due to weather, we would not get a refund. The tee time was later in the afternoon so we might not have been able to finish depending upon the length of the storm. I paid too much to waste the money, so into the restaurant we go. About 45 minutes to an hour later, we tee off and the rest of the day was fun. The course was in good condition given the number of rounds played each year.We get to the "signature hole". My Wife knocks it on the green into the flowers. My shot lands 6 feet away for a birdie. A memorable experience to the say least.I would definitely come back and play the Course if I'm in the area ever again. It has a lot to offer all skill levels of golfers.
great shape ,you lose your game just looking at the view all the time .boat ride to the course from the resort clubs are already there on the cart caddie waiting for you at the dock real big and nice pro-shop w/ good deals hit balls into the lake for warm up even get a short massage before you tee it up
Playing on this course will give you a memory you'll never forget! Each hole is a challenge. But the one hole that will never be forgotten is the floating green. It's a small island floating off the main course. That space of water between you and that floating green is a mental challenge designed to turn you into a philanthropist, if you don't overcome the challenge mentally, you will donate your balls to the bottom of that lake. Great course, not cheap. Facilities are by far outstanding. But you must come for the opportunity of playing a course that will challenge you, and at the same time enjoy manicured nature at it's best.
Had a fun round although we got rained out by a thunderstorm, complete with lightning! Our caddy Dennis was a lot of fun as well as very helpful. He took the extra time to help my wife navigate this course which can be pretty tricky with the wind blowing in different directions. Playing the floating green is a bucket list item for any golfer!
Beautiful beyond words. A good course for the average recreational golfer with outstanding views. Course is in excellent shape, greens very readable and would rate at the speed of about an 11. Caddies work their hearts out, great personalities, Your wish is their command. Great practice facility, very good food. It is expensive but well worth the adventure. Would return definitely in the future. If you stay at the Resort, there is a shuttle boat to the course which leaves on the hour and 1/2 hour and 15 after and 15 to the hour for the return trip. Be sure to take a jacket if travelling early in the morning by boat.
Quite expensive ($175/round) but a must play if you are a golf enthusiast. The floating 14th green is legendary.
I had the beef wrap because the waitress recommended it and it was delicious :-) I also had the french fries and they were also very good. I was impressed with the service ant the resort
Loved watching golfers hit to the floating green. My husband was dying to hit to it but we didn't have time for golf. Beautiful course and setting.
WOW...met all my expectations, and more!! Just an awesome course and experience! The staff was great, and everything was A rated! Enjoyed driving range (hitting into the lake) and the short massage before golf. Scott was our Caddie, and he did a great job. The course was in great condition, and just beautiful! There are tremendous views, many challenges and everything you'd want in a golf course. The floating green was fun! You get 2 chances to get on the green, all 3 in my group made it on. The ladies tee boxes give you a lot of advantage on many holes. I played on a Monday at twilight rates, and 3 of us played in 3 1/2 hours. It was great. This course ranks at the top of my list in the states. Put this at the top of your list when visiting Idaho!!
Irregardless of your golfing level you should play this course. Such beauty, immaculate condition, and unique features make the round fly by, regretting its end. The challenges are not too severe for the beginner but difficult enough for low handicappers. Caddy was discreet but helpful. Loved the hidden rakes! Avoid traps, not easy to get out.
Yes, we had to do it and I guess I'm glad we did but ... wouldn't spend the money again. We found the caddie distracting and really only there to keep play going quickly as there is no other reason. Its a relatively easy course - the caddie was running around, yelling out yardages that we didn't need and that's really the only service that they provided yet you have to tip at least $25-30 pp. Yes, they do run around a lot but again, we found it distracting. We were paired with two terrible golfers that were drinking quite a bit, using foul language - we rented clubs that were low end quality wise. Overall, an odd day. Considering the greens fees, rental clubs, forecaddie cost...other than hitting the floating range balls into the water - don't need to do it again. By the way, the service at the restaurant the day we were there was just terrible. Had to go to the kitchen door to place an order as we could not get anyone to wait on us (or anyone else.) Waitress finally shared how short staffed they were.
My husband and I golfed the course on Sept 4/14 and while it is a pretty course, it is definitely not worth the price. Plus, you have to have a caddie. Whatever for is beyond me. It's not like there are blind shots or thick bush that you could lose your ball in. It's just a make work project. Then they tell you that you should tip the caddie at least $25/person. The other thing is that this is a cart path only course. They should tell you that when reserving a tee time. I hate playing on courses that are cart path only as you usually end up walking more than if you would have just taken a push cart. You can walk the course but apparently you have to pay an extra premium to do so. Over all don't waste your money here. You can golf Indian Canyon in Spokane (beautiful course as well) for 1/6 the price.
If you love golf, this is the place to be! The course is spectacular! It's in great shape! Every hole is beautiful! It is not an easy course to play. If you like challenges, you will especially enjoy the 14th floating green!
The longest floating boardwalk is at the Coeur d'Alene Resort. Worth a walk around! It was windy when we went and a little chilly, but fun to look at everyone's boats.
One of best kept secrets for boaters and summer lake shore residents, for lunch or dinner, is the clubhouse at the Golf course. Tables overlook the Floating Green, so bring your stroke counter as you watch golfer steve off multiple balls trying to get on this green. What a hoot. Service is very professional, attentive and friendly. Diverse menu. Drinks, beer and wine are well represented. Boat in and tie up in one of the 5 boat slips or on the East side of long dock (resort shuttle gets West side). Walk to shore, turn right along lake then up hill to clubhouse. Through Pro Shop and back to right you'll find restaurant.
