The Visitor Center is located in the same building as the Delaware Archives and a great place to start your tour as they have maps, brochures and can start your touring in the right direction. They have changing displays you can visit in the building. They also have restrooms.
This was my first stop I downtown Dover to get a map and some travel literature. The women at the Visitor Center were very knowledgeable and helpful. One staffer pointed out that the Biggs Museum of American Art was right next door to the two places I planned to visit---the Old State House and The Green which is part of the First State National Monument, Delaware’s first and only National Park Service unit. She also said that admission to the Biggs was free. Free is always a good word. There are also exhibits and a research center here. I wished that I’d had more time in Dover. If you found this review helpful, kindly click YES below.
good information about the city, map, brochures of differents activity. great place to start touring and to get information about the city
We visited the State Capitol and Visitor's Center and found the trip very informative. We were here for a class project for my son. The young man that gave the tour was fantastic. He patiently answered my son's many questions and provided him with some great information for his state project. Very happy we decided to visit.
Exceptionally friendly staff, lots of good information and there,s even a little art exhibit with some fabulous sculptures.
Very nice informative place to start a Dover,DE visit. Has great guides, exhibits, history of DE, lots of suggestions for places to eat, etc. Would start here first.
Plenty of handouts and maps of things to do in and near Delaware.A nice place to take a break if you have had a long drive.
The staff wasn't helpful, but there are lots of brochures and pamphlets that can help you out. Just google or use trip advisor. I hate to give bad reviews, but when going to a visitor center for information, I'm always hoping to get better information than I could get on my own.
Helpful, interested and friendly staff with lots of free information to assist in local visits
First class rest stop located off Rt 1 in Smyrna, De. Excellent accomodations. If you need maps, a watering hole, or just a break, this is a good place to stop
